Although, initially the job Sam was on was a couple of days - it happens a lot - once they see Sam’s professionalism and workmanship more rooms gets added on….. which can sometimes make him behind schedule…..

However, to top it off I took him to A&E at 8.50am this morning as he stepped off a ladder, onto a paint pot and fell….. turns out he’s fractured his wrist in two places. If anyone is self-employed they know this causes a detrimental effect on the family financially and also Sam’s well-being as he worries about letting customers down.

Sam went back to work after his heart surgery sooner than advised so I know he was do his damn hardest to not let his customers down.

I’m sure we all wish Sam the best in recovering so he can get back to doing the job he loves - unfortunately, he does need “both” arms to do his job professionally!!!!

I can only at this time offer apologies and hope you will all understand! 😒

Being a self-employed tradesman doesn’t clock off…

Work in progress - Sam better get the second coat on before I change my mind on the colour AGAIN!!!! Sam’s always complaining that I want everything white, so I’ve gone for a bold colour - Duck Egg Blue - the walls and gloss work will be white though (when he has time to finish it)…… the high gloss units after time just started to peel off and the kick boards fell apart but you can make old kitchen units look new.

I recently hired Sam to paint the exterior of my house, including the rendering on the front, guttering, fascia, downpipes, and doorsteps. I am extremely pleased with the results! Sam's attention to detail is amazing. His workmanship is top-notch, and he takes pride in delivering excellent results. Sam was punctual and completed the job within the agreed timeframe. Sam was very prompt in quouting and did the work on the day he said he would. Arrived on time and was very friendly. His work was of an exceptional standard, it looks fantastic! Would not hesitate to use him agian.

in 2012 we had a cream, high gloss kitchen installed. In 2025, we decided it was time for a new one but instead of buying one we have revamped our own kitchen. First I chose a mix of Pink and Grey but after the first coat realised I wanted Duck Egg Blue. Panelling put up on the back wall, still work in progress and the rest of the kitchen, walls and gloss work will have to wait.... it is hard fitting your own house in when it is your main job.

I have included lots of prep photo's. I am sure people do not understand the prep work behind professional decorating and this can become dis-heartening when people expect it to be done quicker (I am his wife and I am one of these people)!!! 😆

Main bedroom transformed to a new fresh look, with light colours and paneling on the back wall. All oak furniture including wardrobes and drawers/dressing table painted white.

So lucky it was a dry and sunny two weeks when myself and Warren did this property in Flecknoe. Used a cherry picker (see red arrow).......... it was extremley high painting the hightest point but heights do not concern me and the finishing result was amazing.
