Burgundy Timber Door with Aged Brass Furniture - Conservation Area
This bespoke burgundy engineered timber door was commissioned and installed in the heart of Denbigh’s conservation area, blending heritage sensitivity with modern performance. Crafted to complement the architectural character of the surrounding period properties, the door serves as both a striking focal point and a respectful nod to the area’s historic aesthetic.
The engineered timber construction offers superior stability and durability compared to solid wood, resisting warping and seasonal movement while retaining the natural beauty of timber.
Aged brass furniture by Anvil was chosen to complete the installation, offering authentic period charm with a lived-in patina that harmonises beautifully with the conservation surroundings. The suite includes a traditional doctors knocker, period escutcheon, traditional letter plate and art deco door pull.
This installation exemplifies the balance between planning compliance in protected areas and the homeowner’s desire for individuality and quality craftsmanship. By combining engineered materials with heritage detailing, the result is a door that will endure both physically and stylistically for years to come.
