This stunning space is part of a full garden relandscape carried out on Dartmoor, where the Liberty Landscapes team rebuilt the terraces, steps and walls entirely using stone reclaimed from the garden itself.

By reusing the original materials, we kept the garden’s natural character, ensured a perfect colour match with the landscape around it and created a timeless feel that blends seamlessly into its Dartmoor surroundings.

Soft, cottage style planting and seasonal pots bring colour and life to the handcrafted stone steps, leading up to a peaceful seating area framed by rustic structures and natural textures.

🌿 Raised Oak Sleeper Planter by Liberty Landscapes

This raised planter was handbuilt to suit the area it was located in, using oak sleepers from Southern Timber, then prepared with nutrient rich green waste recycled compost. It will be planted for cut flowers in the coming season.

The timber edging gives clean definition, while the surrounding woodchip path creates easy access and a natural look that ties the whole area together.

🌿 Professional Planting & Garden Transformation by Liberty Landscapes 🌿

Another stunning project completed for Ashburton garden designer Amanda Hembrough Garden Design and a perfect example of what the Liberty Landscapes team does best.

We prepared all planting beds using high quality recycled green waste compost from Fine Turf Ashburton, creating the ideal foundation for healthy, long-lasting growth.

Our team carried out a full planting installation, including:
✨ Herbaceous varieties - geraniums, astrantia, sedum, verbena, stachys & liriope
✨ Spring bulbs - crocus, tulip & allium
✨ Structural shrubs - yews, pittosporum, choisya, lavender & hydrangea

To improve access throughout the space, we created a winding woodchip “goat path” over membrane, allowing the garden to be enjoyed without disturbing the beds.

At the lower end of the garden, we installed a large area of wildflower turf, edged with a cultivated turf pathway, blended seamlessly into the existing lawn, which we levelled and repaired for a smooth, polished finish.

From soil preparation to planting, lawn creation to access paths, Liberty Landscapes delivers craftsmanship, care and expertise at every stage.

We recently completed this replacement decking project using Southern Timbers Armour Deck composite decking in Light Steel.
Our team built a taped timber frame raised over the existing sub-base, creating a solid, long lasting foundation.

Because this area is naturally damp, we alternated the board direction to improve grip and accessibility in all weather conditions, a small detail that makes a big difference to everyday use. The result is a clean, modern and durable outdoor space that our clients can enjoy year round.

From blank canvas to a beautiful retreat. We love helping newbuild homeowners put their own unique stamp on their gardens, creating outdoor spaces that will grow, mature and develop over time. This recent project on a Baker Estates home was a real pleasure to work on, bringing Joe Musselwhite Garden Design concept plan to life around a stunning studio by Timberventure Garden Rooms.The design focused on nestling the studio into the garden with a mix of straight pathways edged with EverEdge softened by curved borders filled with herbaceous planting, grasses and tree ferns. We also extended the patio to create a larger, more practical entertaining space right outside the house. A big thank you to Southern Timber and Fine Turf Devon Ltd for supplying the materials that helped complete this transformation.

Ok so please remember we are landscapers and not videographers, hence the wobbly video! But wanted to share this job we have just finished where we completed everything from decking and paving, to stone walls and a pergola, plus the moving and installation of the hot tub with raised planters built throughout. All ready for this family to enjoy the late summer that we are totally optimistic we are going to get!

All materials were supplied by Southern Timber - wood, composite decking, paving, sand, cement and decorative aggregates. They are our 'one stop shop' for all our landscape materials.
