We’ve been at a few jobs locally where the customers have had a plumber out and quoted ridiculous prices for repairs,1 was quoted at over £500 where we done the repair for less than £200
The other one was misdiagnosed.both times the plumber has said it’s best to replace the boiler than do the repair which wasn’t the case.
We’ve also been back at a few services where it’s clear the guy doing the servicing didn’t know what he was doing and caused issues with the boilers.
Not all plumbers are trained in how to service and repair boilers but some are happy to take the money and fit a new one when it might not be the case.
If anyone finds themselves in this situation,we’re more than happy to go and give a 2nd opinion
