Something different here for June. Agastache Pink Pearl, Cosmos Cherry Chocolate and Anthemis Tinctoria E.C. Buxton. Why do we have them when we are a herb nursery? Well, we just love them! Sometimes it is nice just to grow and enjoy something else.

Unedited behind the scenes - these are some of plants leaving here on Tuesday. To give you an idea of how mail order works…..We have a picking list and then walk the whole nursery collecting the plants, they are then brought up, tidied (sometimes fed) and watered. We then get a pile of orders and start picking from these benches. Names are stuck on each order and then the packers spend between 8am and 3:30 pm packing before the courier collection(s). One day of orders takes 4 people a whole day to complete from collection to packed box. Therefore, with 7 days of orders a week but only 4 days of sending (less with bank holiday), we do get a little delayed. However, some of us are here in a Sunday and again on bank holiday Monday to continue! Along with watering (noise on video is water pump running)and other nursery work. Delays won’t be for long - we are very good at catching up by working even longer hours! Anyway, must dash - I must pick up a lance!

Curry plant (Helichrysum italicum) just coming into flower. This is such an underrated plant. This isn’t ’Curry leaves’ and it isn’t even considered culinary….BUT it is an attractive hardy perennial herb which gives off a pleasant aromatic curry ‘ish’ scent . You can use as a garnish but why not just enjoy it in the garden. A touch of silvery white and the pale yellow flowers compliment santolinas, olive trees, white/cream and pale yellow roses to name a few. It can also be used as low hedging which is great as it can also be used to deter the neighbour’s cat from the garden.
