🌺 Blooming Hydrangeas 🌺

🌸 We have a fantastic selection of Hydrangeas in stock, including the Black Steel series, which are just beginning to bloom 😍. We have Pink Ball, Purple Ball and Zorro available, and these are priced at £19.99 each.

🌸 Paniculata are also available, and include Candlelight, Pinky Winky, Silver Dollar, Limelight, Wim’s Red, Grandiflora, Confetti and Bobo amongst others. Prices for the Paniculata start at £19.99 each and include shaped ‘Standards’ from £34.99.

🌸 Stunning mophead Hydrangeas are also available, looking pretty as a picture in pastel blues, pinks and limes 😍. Again, these are priced from £19.99 each.

🌸 Hydrangeas love a bit of shade and lots and lots of water! They’re great for borders or pots - just remember to give them the right compost 😊. Blues need acidic, or Ericaceous, compost to stay blue.

🌺 Grab Some Summer Colour 🌼

Take a look at our photos of what’s available here at Richard’s Plants for the weekend: wall to wall lush, gorgeous colour! Our final crop of Pelargonium and Begonia have tripled in size over the last week, these are £2.95 each or any four for £10. They’re looking magnificent!

🌸 The Hydrangeas are also looking spectacular, as are the Astilbes, Irises and our other Perennials, including the magnificent Penstemon which we’ve grown here on site.

Our own-grown Cosmos are looking so pretty - even in yesterday’s rain - and these are just £1.99 each. We are down to our last few trays of these, so don’t hang about 🤩

We have some incredible, exotic, Red Bananas, Agapanthus, Mandevilla, Bougainvillea and Hibiscus and we’re rather proud that our Jacaranda Trees are bursting into flower 💙.

🌸 Our 20 packs of bedding plants look jaw-dropping and these are priced at just £6.99 each or any 3 for £20 😍.

Now that we need the space for our Salvia and Penstemon collections, we’ve dropped the price of our last few tables of single summer basket plants, including Petunias, Million Bells and Surfinias to just £1 each to clear 😍.

Potty about Pots…

🪴 Here at Richard’s Plants, we are completely potty about our pots 😍. We have the largest range of pots in the area, with an amazing array of styles, sizes, materials and prices along the way.

🪴 In our huge outdoor pot area, you can choose from glazed, terracotta, slate, clay fibre, plastic, metal and wood. Some of our ranges are currently half marked price or are on Special Offer, so don’t miss out! 🤩

🪴 Moving on to our indoor pots, again, we have a massive selection including glazed, plastic and wicker, all in a wide choice of colours to complement your home decor perfectly.

🪴 So, if you’re looking for a tiny pot for your new cactus, or a huge pot for an Olive Tree, then we’re sure to have something wonderful 😊

🌳 The Jacaranda Tree 🌳

💙 We’re excited to tell you that, having over-wintered our Jacaranda trees, they’re now looking spectacular, both the foliage and bright blue flower buds! We have available Jacaranda Mimosifolia Bonsai Blue, a dwarf variety which will reach about 2 metres tall, perfect for a container in a sunny spot.

💙 It’s a stunning tree that can live outside during the UK’s summers and brought into a heated greenhouse, conservatory, or as they are hardy down to -2, brought fully indoors during the cooler months.

💙 They don’t like to be too wet, so allow the potted tree to dry out between watering in both summer and winter.

These stunning trees are worth growing just for the unusual foliage alone! Our Jacaranda trees are available priced at £69.99 each.

🌺 We are Chock-full of Colour 🌸

In between today’s showers, we’ve put out on display, our last crops of Pelargoniums and Begonia. These are great for planting into containers and hanging baskets, or popping into any gaps in your borders 😍

🌼 Both of these summer-flowering plants are amongst our best-sellers year in, year out. Pelargoniums come in a colour range from white, through pinks to orange and scarlet, and are available in the classic uprights and as trailing varieties.

🌼 Our Begonias range from whites, champagnes, yellows, pinks, oranges and lreds and are available as uprights and trailers.

Both of these brilliant plants have been grown here on site and are priced at £2.95 each or any four for £10. As they will flower their hearts out for the whole summer, we think this is fantastic value!

🌞 There’s some lovely warm weather on the horizon, and we’re full of fabulous colour to brighten any corner of your garden 😍

💛 Alstroemeria Heaven 🩷

Our own-grown Alstroemeria are just beginning to bloom 😍. These are stunning perennials which are hardy here in the uk. Deadhead regularly and they will flower prolifically all summer long.

They make fantastic cut flowers, but remember to pull up flowering stalks instead of cutting them. Pull upwards gently to remove the flower stalk from below the soil level and this will stimulate lovely new growth, and - of course - more beautiful flowers.

These photos have been taken today of three of our five varieties, namely:

💛 Summer Saint
💛 Indian Summer
💛 White Pink Blush

Other varieties available are the ruby red Doba and yellow Spring Valley. Our Alstroemeria are great value at £12.50 each or any two for £20. Plant in full sun to part shade and watch the magic happen.

🩵 New Crops of Salvia 🩵

We’ve dodged the showers today and topped up our existing huge range of Salvias with new crops of plants.

🩵 This top up includes the absolutely stunning and rare Bullulata which is this mind-blowing turquoise colour, the elegant, Cool Cream and Pretty Flamingo, which is - you guessed it - flamingo pink 🦩.

🧡 There’s also another new crop of the orangey-yellow Californian Sunset, Embers Wish, which has gorgeous reddish-pink flowers, and a brand new one to us: Hadspen.

❤️ Hadspen is a tall one, at 1.5 metres, has neon pink edged flowers and an unusual greyish, purplish, greenish leaf 😂 It’s a total winner in our book 🩷🥇

We’ve also brought out Cool Violet, Mulberry Jam, Naturally Fuchsia, Lipstick and Chalk White, amongst others! Our own-grown Salvia are priced at either £4.99 for a small pot or £7.50 for a big one.

🪴Our Hosta tunnel is looking lush. So lush, in fact, that customers are stopping in their tracks, and, with nearly 100 varieties in stock, there’s plenty to be enticed by.

🐪Our Hostas are priced at £7.99 each or any two for just £14. We have the usual varieties, plus many, many unusual ones (but we don’t have purple, orange or peacock colour ones - those are not real!).

🪴Take a look at our photos which have been taken today and you will find some more unusual varieties such as Appletini, Forbidden Fruit, Abiqua Drinking Gourd, Lemon Snap, Praying Hands, Guacamole, Autumn Frost, Victory, and Silk Road. Our Penstemon Collection

Our own-grown Penstemon are looking fantastic. They loved the sunshine last week and they’ve put on some fantastic new growth, and, as flowers are starting to form, we thought we’d remind you of some of our varieties.

We have 28 different varieties including the enticing Heavenly Blue, the cracking cerise Firebird, the lilac Alice Hindley, the bright red Windsor Red and the subtle pink Apple Blossom.

Give them full sun or partial dappled shade and they will flower all summer long. Penstemon also provide a good source of nectar for bees and other pollinators 🦋

Prices start from £4.99 each 🐝
