Oil is a fuel that is easily contaminated, and this can have a knock-on effect on the efficiency and reliability of your system.

The boiler can lock out for several minor reasons that will require an engineer to attend to reset it, most of these issues can be prevented with an annual service.

Even clean burning boilers will dirty over time and an annual service is a must to keep it clean and prevent call outs.

What are the maintenance requirements for my oil system?

Water ingress to the tank can cause the oil to congeal and clog the nozzles.

Frozen water or air will block the oil line and lock out the boiler.

An annual service and regular maintenance are very important for any oil systems to ensure its continued operation.

Why Do You Need to Service Your Oil Boiler?

Although boiler servicing is often seen as an 'unnecessary expense', having your boiler serviced regularly is important for three key reasons:

👉Safety: If your boiler is not combusting properly, it could be giving off lethal carbon monoxide fumes.

👉Reliability: Un-serviced boilers are more likely to breakdown or develop problems.

👉Efficiency: If oil boilers are not serviced annually, they can “soot-up”. This means that your boiler will be less efficient, as it will need to use more fuel to maintain a regular temperature.
