🫐 Blueberry Bushes 🫐

An exciting new addition to our home allotment.

Now, these can be notoriously tricky to grow but if you follow a few simple steps you should have an abundance of delicious berries at home:

✅ Plant in ericacious compost. A non-negotiable with blueberries.

✅ Mulch with woodchip to retain moisture. They hate to dry out.

✅ Rain water if you can and plenty of it especially when they start to product flowers and fruit.

Our soil on the nursery is heavy clay so we have dug a big trench and back filled this with ericacious compost. Topped off with shredded christmas tree woodchip. Fingers crossed for these.

…. And yes, we do have blueberry bushes in stock to buy starting at £12 if you’d like to give them a go.

🌸Late March🌸

We just love this time of year when everything is fresh and new!

Our perennials have grown beautifully in the greenhouses over the past few weeks and the team are busy moving them into the polytunnels. We still need more bench space inside as always! 🤣

Our summer annuals are also growing wonderfully. They appreciate the warm temperatures inside the greenhouses. Aiming for these to be ‘outside ready’ in late April.

Even after finishing a day’s work on the nursery we still love to ‘farm’ our little corner of it after work.

We grow veg using the no-dig method. Once a year we mulch our veg beds with farmyard manure.

Lucky for us we have plenty of it right here on the nursery.

Plants are a way of life for us. Never just a job. 💚
