Jennie Harman, Garden Maintenance Services

Jennie Harman, Garden Maintenance Services Affordable garden maintenance services Unfortunately we ran out of funding and the project ended. At the same time I decided to start my own gardening business.

Permanently closed.

I managed a gardening project for a mental health charity for 7 years, initially looking after their outside gardening contracts and then concentrating on growing and marketing the produce at the allotment site. I then went on to run workshops working with adults with learning and physical disabilities. I still wanted to work either in gardening or conservation and decided to return to college to

study Countryside Management. I finished college in July and decided to concentrate on my gardening business adding to the business my knowledge gained in woodland management, greenwood crafts and wildlife habitat management. I am particularly interested in Living Willow structures and furniture. These can include tunnels, arbours, domes and children's dens. I have also built two living willow chairs. I also build rustic garden furniture from coppiced hazel. This is a sustainable product and the majority is sourced from Bradfield Wood in Suffolk. An ancient woodland managed by the Suffolk Wildlife Trust. In April 2015, with an increase in customers, Eddie Canty became a full time partner in the business. We continue to go from strength to strength adding new customers each year.

Thank you Andy Amos, Mobile Mechanic for sorting the MOT for my van today. Appreciated, great service as always. Love my van and I might be retired now but looking forward to driving her for at least another year maybe more. She has been a good workhorse.

Have had to make the decision to retire now. Trying to work out how to sell off old gardening equipment. Think I need to make a list. I have way too much for our needs now.

Finally managed to talk to all of my customers to inform them that I will be retiring at the end of March next year. Wanted to give everyone enough time to find new gardeners. Have had such a lovely time and it has been such a great way to earn a living but now I need to spend some me time. 🙂 Looking forward to getting to grips with our garden and finding Deer proof solutions.

Love finding this today. Thank you to Norfolk and Friends plant / animal and insect identification service for their help in identifying it. Thank you Martin Tickner for this information "A Bolete in the genus Xerocomellus, formerly Xerocomus. A Red-cracking Bolete has this pattern, and is common now, but the Suede or Yellow-cracking Bolete looks like this in dry weather. Need more detail, underside, cut flesh colour to narrow down." Back next week and can hopefully narrow down identification. Never seen this Fungi before. So beautiful.

On Planter duty for Diss Floral for two weeks. Loving the rain the last two days. Really need it here. Had a enjoyable walk into town with my brolly today to dead head the Geraniums. Hopefully plants will start to recover. Spent so much of my time the last few weeks clearing dead plants and leaves.

My apologies trying to work out how to change the name on Facebook - not straightforward. Bear with me I will work it out.

To let everyone known my lovely partner Eddie has now retired. We are both the same age so I am officially semi-retired. I will be continuing to work for my existing customers. Love my work and my customers. Gardening and being in the lovely Suffolk/Norfolk countryside is such a wonderful way to spend my days. Jennie Harman Partnership will no longer exist but I will continue as Jennie Harman, sole trader. Loved every minute of the Partnership and still loving gardening for so many lovely people.
