Our workshops are aged a bit, but we're not sure exactly how old they are.

This particular workshop never really gets much activity, compared to the others, but it seems to be quite lively tonight. 🤷

Which one do you prefer??

This is a quick before and after of a old and tired timber fence and gate, which we removed and replaced with a new, steel and composite sliding gate and side pedestrian gate.

Both gates included locks, and included shotblasting a powder coating.

We did all the work ourselves in house. From the first cut of steel, the forst layer of powder coating, to the last bolt in the floor.

We dont need any 3rd party companies involved,

We are a one stop shop.

**Being self employed**
Everyone thinks youre loaded, and have no need for money.
People also think you have endless time to yourself and can do what you want.

Can I just confirm for all those guys and girls...

That,
Running a business takes much more time and effort than just turning up to a mon-fri job, that requires clocking in and out and obviously some effort or youll be finished

Being self employed means missing events, missing birthdays, managing jobs, planning works, managing times and quality, and ill also remind folk, that sometimes things go wrong, so you also have to deal with complaints and put things right.

Thats just scratching the surface!

Bottom line, you have to manage getting paid, 💸 so you have to gather prices, not just one price, but several prices to ensure you buy at the best price, you then have to log hours on jobs, log material costs, log travel costs, then create invoices that need to be delivered by a certain date otherwise you have to wait another how ever many days to get paid, and when that dosent happen, for one reason or another, whether its simply a forgetful mind, or they simply want to hold your money for as long as possible, or even, belive it or not, simply dont want to pay you at all, then this puts your business is at risk of;

* paying your overheads late,
* paying tax late,
* paying vat late,
* paying rent late,
* paying wages late,
* paying your material suppliers late

**most importantly, not providing for your family at home because cash flow has been interrupted.....***

The list goes on, and once this happens, your business is at risk of being took to court, or even shut down because you haven't paid your bills on time, because your clients didnt have the decency to pay you on time! And in some worse cases, its not just the business thats at risk, marriages can be at risk, family homes can be at risk!
Horrifying really when you break it down.

Even after giving clients all your time, all your efforts, buying all the materials, supplied and completed the job...the outcome would always be the same, zero respect, zero empathy, zero payment.

I put this down to it being too easy to find a different supplier, cheaper, quicker, better, what ever, making the original supplier a past thought and irrelevant along with the outstanding invoices.

This is sadly the beautiful Britain we live in where noone gives a flying f**k about anyone but themselves.

So,
Im hoping its just because its Bank holiday.

But 5 companies have let me down this week by not paying me.
Ive still paid my lads, as I wont see lads go without money.

Now im left unpaid,

So im hoping its just because its bank holiday, but realistically, folk like me need paying on time, so I can pay lads and keep money on their tables.
If I dont get paid then all the above happens and eventually it could fold my Company and watch several lads lose their jobs, several families lose their provider..

It's not a good scenario, to say the least!

So please share my work posts so I can keep lads in work and keep families together

Gutted we're not available for tomorrows fight night to watch one of our boxing sponsoree's, the one and only Billy "diamond kid" Jarmolinski!

The project was a garden arch thay was rusty and tired, so we shotblasted it back to clean metal.and powder coated it in a gloss black to give it another lease of life.

Safe to say this customer is happy now we made her dream a reality.

Similar style, different job.

There seems to be a trend in upgrading to composite gates from old timber gates, and the reason being is, timber just dont last!.

In days gone by, timber gates were "cheaper" or "more affordable", nowadays days, they cost Similar money! And to be honest, even with the right maintenance, timber just doesn't survive.

Think about it, if you buy from a respectable company, the cost of our gates are Similar to timber gates, the kicker is this, timber gates need sanding and painting every year or even twice a year and afyer all that extra cost, they still rot and fall apart!

but our gates have very little, even close to zero maintenance because of the powdercoated steel frame and composite infill boards, which require zero painting, just simply cleaning.

Buy cheap, pay twice they say 🤷
