Clearing the way for sunshine!

Plants can grow rapidly, drop leaves and end up battling their neighbours for essential resources.

To ensure plants aren't competing too much, sometimes they need to be reduced or cleared. This is to stop other plants being smothered and bring fresh life to an area.

Once upon a time this gardener was a graphic designer, creating perfect imagery in vector format, picking the right CMYK code…

Those days are behind me but my love of art, design and all things creative will always continue and now into the garden.

Taking the step into self employed world was a GIANT leap for me and it’s a leap I am so, so happy I took. I’m very grateful for all the good things which have come my way since making this decision. I’m loving every step along the way.

Now for the next step and a nod to the past, a little bit of branding in the form of a logo design. Which colour do I go for, hmm…?

The cutting garden is in full swing!

All year round there is something which can be cut and put into a vase. But as the months get warmer and the hours of light increase, a few twigs and stems slowy become handfuls of joy.

Annuals, perennials, simple, blousy there’s something for everyone. Which can create feelings of been a kid in a sweet shop.

Two of my all time favourite cut flowers are, classic sweet peas and my favourite deciduous perennial astrantia.

Roses, there’s one for everyone.

From the traditional hybrid tea, to a species, a rambler and many more. Which one to choose? Next which colour to pick? Red, pink, peach, yellow, purple? Who knew the world of roses could be so varied and so beautiful!

Working with existing plants.

This delightful little garden is filled with roses. The client wanted to enhance them and the surrounding garden with some additional planting.

The plants selected for this are…

Lavender 'Hidcote'
Geranium 'White-ness'
Nepeta 'Amelia'
Gaura 'The Bride'
Knautia macadonica
Scabiosa 'Moondance'
Erigeron karvinskianus

Looking forward to seeing the full impact of these!

Well, more like out of the garden… ready for some R&R.

I’m so lucky for these past few months, I’ve had some lovely clients, learnt so much and gained new confidence. I really am so, so, grateful 💚

Now it’s time to turn off and have little break. I’ll be back 19th May and will respond to any messages upon my return.

Have a lovely one

From planning and positioning to planting and completion 💚

This client's garden had a long thin border (12.3m x 0.6m) which was chockablock with weeds.

The plan was to make it a beautiful boarder ready for this year. My client bought a selection of plants and sent me over a list. From this I created a planting plan for them. Then the next day they were laid out, planted in and watered.

In no time at all, the plants will start working their roots into the ground and making a home for themselves. Soon it'll be blooming and looking stunning.

Me and my husband went to a pottery throwing class a few weeks ago. Of course, I threw something horticulture related 🤣 and I’ve already selected the plants I’ll be popping in them.
