Clover lawn is starting to show. The grass struggles a lot due to the shade, sandy soil and then the excessive leaf fall in Autumn, so wanted to give clover a go since it’s a lot more hardy
And a lot better for wildlife too ☺️

Wareham Open Gardens this Saturday

We’ve battled on with this garden over the years. We lost the lawn, we lost so many box hedges due to box moth, we lost so many shrubs and trees to honey fungus, we have waste up to our eyeballs, endless and endless Alexander’s, bindweed, ivy and alkanet.
But we are pleased with how it’s come along and it really is such a wildlife haven - visiting hedgehogs, toads, frogs, grass snakes, deer, nesting blackbirds, wrens, robins, pigeons, and all the little critters, so if you find yourself in Wareham this weekend, do come and give the garden some love 💚

A pig in under the Mexican daisies… or as Caz put it ‘there’s a f*cking massive hedgehog’ 😂😂

So exciting and proof that if you build it they will come, because it wouldn’t have found anywhere to sleep in this garden last year. We even heard baby pig squeaking underneath.
Also, please don’t strim herbaceous plants, you really never know what’s hiding in them

So pleased the Holly is filling out with the variegated leaves. I gave it a big chop in the winter because it had suckered and was reverting back to its original non-variegated foliage. The whole left side of it was a completely different tree. It’s been looking pretty bare for a while, but the bird and back in and out and will love the berries when they come

Whoopsie daisy!
Managed to pin the wisteria back up. It’s ridiculously heavy 😅 It’ll have a big old prune in the winter so hopefully it will hold out until then, but at least you can see out the window now 🙈
