“Home Grown” means exactly that here at Stewarts 🌿

At our own nursery in Broomhill, our team grows and nurtures a wide range of plants before they make their way into our garden centres. Growing has been part of the Stewarts story since 1742, and while the varieties may have changed over the generations, that care and pride in doing things properly hasn’t.

Our nursery team are a particular bunch, so only the plants they’re truly happy with make it out to the centres. Look out for the Home Grown label when you visit - it means the plant has been grown locally in Dorset, travelled fewer miles, and been tended by our own team from the beginning.

Rose Festival is in full bloom here at Stewarts 🌹

With over 200 varieties of British-grown roses across our centres, including beautiful David Austin roses, June is the perfect time to add a little colour and fragrance to your garden.

And if you’d like to learn more about growing and caring for roses, don’t miss our David Austin Rose Talks at Christchurch on Tuesday 23rd June. Following two sell-out talks in 2025, the team from David Austin Roses will be sharing their expertise on cultivation, planting, care, favourite varieties and answering your questions in a live Q&A.

Looking for something to really make your garden pop? There’s no shortage of colour here at the moment 🌿🌸
We asked the team at Christchurch a simple question: “What’s looking particularly great right now?” and they certainly didn’t struggle for answers…
Hydrangeas bursting into life, roses putting on a show, clematis climbing beautifully, and plenty more seasonal favourites looking their best.
The trouble is, once you start looking, it’s very difficult to leave with just one 👀

One thing people are often surprised to learn is just how much is made by our own team 👋

We spent some time with Amy at our Abbey centre as she put together one of our afternoon teas, and nearly everything you see has been made fresh by our kitchen team that day - from the cakes and scones to the sandwiches.

There’s something rather lovely about knowing the person making your afternoon tea has baked it, prepared it, and carefully put it together themselves.

It’s all part of our belief that good food doesn’t need to be complicated - just made with care, using quality ingredients, by people who genuinely enjoy what they do ☕🍰
