Oh my goodness 😳

Look how sad my poor little abandoned play space looks, in such a short time too! I'm going to have to make more effort to keep chipping away at it or the brambles will have completely consumed the mud kitchen by next year.

We did spot loads of signs of happy wildlife though including a baby bird in a nest and lots of grasshoppers 😀

This is such a lovely book to help little people understand what plants need to grow. Plus radishes are very satisfying ...

We had a wonderful nature walk in the sunshine today. Pond dipping, bug hunting and bird spotting with wonderful friends. Washed down with some delicious lilac and raspberry cordial and watermelon slices 😋

It was a cold wind blowing this morning, but we warmed up with a Spring scavenger hunt, honey cake and some spring themed crafts. Sorry I didn't take many photos this week, I was keeping my hands warm in my pockets!

Today we have been eating weeds.

We hunted for, created with and ate dandelions. I can now recommended dandelion jam if you fancy something a bit different! (All parts of the dandelion are edible in case you didn't know.)

We also had dandelion playdough, a mummy duck and her gorgeous babies to admire, some adventurous swinging and lots of bug hunting. Plus it was pointed out that the tree had a pig nose, it really does!

Thank you for a wonderful morning, it was a joy.

I got some jobs done in the field today and it felt great. It was lovely hanging out there in the sunshine with my helpers. It feels like ages since we were here!

I'm still undecided about what to do with the playgroup here though. Which day to go for or if there is even enough interest to make it happen. If you think you might like to come, even if it's only occasionally, could you comment or message me so I can get an idea of how people feel please? Thank you!

It was another lovely day, playing in the woods.

We sowed seeds, chopped carrots to make rabbit faces, filled (and refilled!) the bird feeders, made Easter decorations, played farms and had an egg hunt!

I had the most wonderful time at the Pinewood Trust Activity centre today (minus little lady feeling poorly and not at all happy). This place is incredible.

I am planning on organising some days out here. What are your thoughts? Forest school, Home ed days, camp outs, or just play outside?

They have so much to offer. I didn't get to take many photos, but there is plenty for everybody, all ages and abilities. It's really beautiful!

When it rains, look for rainbows 🌈 we had a few showers this morning, but plenty of sunshine too.

Today we explored the 5 senses with lots of things to smell, see, hear and touch. For taste, we discovered the delights of sugary pancakes with sour lemons. The lemons had a mixed reaction, loved by some, hated by others 😆

Thank you to the lovely families that kept smiling through the changeable weather ❤ see you next week.
