We're so thrilled that the fountain has been featured by over on Instagram and is helping to tell the story of its importance to our town 😀

We thought it would be the perfect opportunity to share a bit more of its history by resharing the wonderful film that was made during its restoration, by DEAR FRIEND Films and starring the amazing, Mostly Ghostly Tours!

The film was sent to all the local primary schools, with a premiere at St Michael's Primary School, (who were so instrumental in the restoration campaign), in the hope that the next generation of Doonhamers would become the caretakers for it, and enjoy it ☺️

Exciting news ....our brand new website is now LIVE! There's been lots of long hours behind the scenes to finally make it happen. It's not perfect, but it's done for now. There will be other pages to add, including how to sell with us, a regular blog and some gift guides.

Our new online shop is open 24|7 but we always encourage you to visit us on the High Street. But if you've visited us from afar and would love to shop again, we happily post across the U.K. There's a standard P&P cost of £4.50. Orders over £80 include free delivery.

If you live locally and want to pick up instore, then you can do that too.

Not everything we stock in our gift shop is available on the website, but it gives you a taste of what we offer. There's over 400 lovely items listed, and over the next month or so, we'll be adding more.

If you are buying for a gift, you can add a message, choose to have it gift wrapped, and we'll post it directly to the lucky recipient.

You can now also sign up for our new mailing list to hear about new arrivals, forthcoming workshops, events, and good things happening here at Flourish.

Happy Spring Equinox! 🌷🌞

Spring has officially sprung, and we're overjoyed to see the first flowers in bloom, lambs frolicking in the fields, longer days ahead, and the warm weather making a welcome return!

We're thrilled to announce that our beloved fountain will be reactivated for the 2024 season on Monday, 25th March! 🙌⛲️

The maintenance team from Dumfries and Galloway Council alongside the experts from Lost Art Limited will be giving the fountain a thorough spring cleaning tomorrow, ensuring it's sparkling for the switch-on. Plus, the original commemorative plaque is set to return after undergoing some restoration. Not only that, but it's been decided by DGC that the "wishes" tossed into the fountain will be donated to local food banks, supporting those in our community who need it the most.

We're eagerly anticipating the joy the fountain will bring to both locals and visitors alike, with its soothing water sounds. Last year's photos and posts showed us just how much of a positive impact the fountain had on our town centre, offering everyone a place to sit back, relax, and enjoy moments of peace and happiness. For those of us who championed the fountain's restoration, seeing it cherished and enjoyed is incredibly rewarding. We remain dedicated to ensuring its upkeep and maintenance, so that it remains a treasure for our community for many generations to come.

Update from Dumfries and Galloway Council
We look forward to March 2024

It looks sunny and warm in this photo but the weather is getting very chilly and as planned, in line with manufacturers guidelines, we will be switching Dumfries Fountain off during the winter period. This is standard practice with some fountains to prevent damage from prolonged periods of frost. The fountain will be switched off week beginning December 18th and will be switched back on week beginning March 25th 2024.
