Just finished these two alcoves for a customer/neighbour/friend. Handmade cabinetry with shaker style doors and floating shelves. Doors hung on the ever excellent soft close Blum hinges, cute handles supplied by customer.

No before photos but close your eyes and imagine these alcoves without the cabinets and shelves and you’ll see the difference. 😃

As promised, here’s Part 2 of the recent flat refurb job for Fort Collins property. As well as the new kitchen, there was lots of decorating, some bits and pieces of joinery, repairs and generally making this a lovely flat for the new tenants! (Carpets/vinyl, bathroom and plumbing/electrics by others.)

Hello! It’s been a while. I’ve been working away on a full flat renovation, which is just about over the line. Here’s part 1: a shiny new kitchen. Scroll to the end for the old one. This involved the rip out of old kitchen; wall repairs; kitchen fit, floor prep and decorating. A treat for the new tenants to walk into a box-fresh kitchen! Part 2 coming soon.

Hello and a belated happy new year! I’ve been back at it for a few weeks after a good Christmas break, with a nice variety of jobs on the go. Today was fitting some bespoke drawer boxes I made to add some sneaky extra under cabinet storage to this lovely kitchen. An easy(ish) way to make the most of your existing space. If you think this would be a welcome addition to your kitchen, give me a shout!

First time fitting a Swish Supreme Glide curtain track in this bay window today. Bit of a learning curve for me, but I’m really impressed with how sturdy it feels. And what a view out that bay window! 😍

If you’ve got a bay window needing a curtain track upgrade I’d recommend this for sure. Having used diy-store curtain rails for bays with poor results, I can say this is a way better option.

Big shout out to for the help pointing me in the direction of this product!

Here is some big chunky panelling for this bedroom wall from last week. Panelling including a custom moulding for the top by me, painted by the client’s decorator. 👌

Here’s another one from the McKerracher Home Works actual home!

Over the last few months this room has had a complete transformation. It’s hard to show everything that’s been done in the ten photo limit, but here’s a wee run down!

• Walls and ceiling stripped (yes, wallpaper on the ceiling!) and skimmed (dark art of plastering courtesy of RPS Plastering.)
• Rotten timber in windows replaced
• Double glazed unit replaced after *someone* cracked one trying to dry out the rotten timber 🤦‍♂️
• Gas fire removed and original chimney opening rebuilt with a new concrete lintel installed
• New tiled hearth
• Wood burner installed including chimney liner
• Stud wall built to hide door/window to porch
• New mantle piece made from a lovely piece of sapele
• Paint everywhere it’s meant to go!
• And a bunch of other little things that crop up along the way on a project like this!

Phew! It’s taken a while to get to this point in between working and parenting, but we’re chuffed to be able to hunker down and get cozy of an evening now that autumn has well and truly arrived. A few finishing touches still needed, but all in good time!

I learned an absolute tonne on this project - loads of new skills and pushing myself in new ways. Grateful for advice and help from loads of people, particularly and .

A wee glow up for this garden gate. That’s the right use of ‘glow up’, right?! Loose paint removed, sanded down, fresh paint, new bolt etc etc.

Sometimes a little bit of love can make a big difference.

I’ve been quiet over the last few weeks on here, but I’ve been plugging away over the summer when childcare responsibilities have allowed. With everyone back at school and nursery I’m back at it properly now!

Get in touch if you’ve got any projects - large or small - needing taken care of in the next few months. Diary is open and starting to fill, so give me a shout!
