This is my experimental step over beds, begining to yield harvests this season, contianing lettuce lollo rosso,leeks, corriander,chard,leeks, celery, spring onionlambs lettuce,, mustard mix leaves.Seems like a promising way to manage a variety of veg in a small area.

Took a few surface temperatures at the allotment today, just to guage the difference in my hotbed propogator. The result was quiet interesting to me such a difference in mulched ground and open soil, and hotbed temperatures confirms to me the hotbed propogator is working.It also shows mulching not only constricts w**d growth and retains water it also raises soil temperature.

Preparing some comfrey, Bocking 14 strain, root cuttings. For others on allotments.Comfrey make a great high potassium liquid fertiliser, this variety has bigger leaves and can be cropped 3 times a year, and does not spread like other types.it can also be used leaves laid straight on the groynd around flowers and fruit trees to give that extra potassium boost, packing the leaves of this plant into a sealable container without any additional water will make a thick concentrate black liquid feed,or the leaves can be added to a small barrel with water and left to ferment, i use a solar powered air stone fed ibto the small barrell this stop the usual asociated smell from developing. Great free tomato feed!
