Hi Everyone,
Another week over and we have completed the first stage of renovating our bureau and we are delighted with the results. Not everyone would agree on sanding down French polished furniture, but times and taste have changed, traditional polished furniture still looks great in the right setting and is still very popular, but our client wanted to have her grandmother’s bureau transformed to sit in her hallway. It is now in the hands of our young apprentice (no pressure)🥳 who is taking the challenge with great enthusiasm and confidence. Prestige loves to encourage this and we look forward to your comments, good and bad, and will take them all on board for future projects. The bureau halfway getting painted, and fully painted ready for our artist final details.🖌🖌🖌🖌

Hi Everyone,
It’s Monday again and a new start to the week, hope you are all well.
We had a great response from our teenager bedroom; I was very surprised when I returned a cushion to Harry Corry that I had not used - the assistant told me she viewed the post and was delighted with the end result.
Last week we had a call from a new client asking if we could transform her great grandma’s bureau which has been stored in the garage for the last 15 years. As we have said before we love a challenge and after seeing the bureau we decided on an Italian colour - Turchese Antico translated means antique turquoise, it’s a chalky paint and it is the first time we have used chalk paint and we have to tell you all it’s great so easy to use and dries very quickly. Today we picked up the bureau it has been sanded down and all old handles removed and I have to say it is looking different already.

Tomorrow, we will order new handles and carry on with sanding and painting, when all is done, we will be asking our young apprentice Neve who is a very good artist, to put the finishing touches to it.

At the end of the day all we want is for our client to use her great grandma’s bureau and remember her great grandma every time she looks at it.

We have posted a picture of her grandma’s bureau on pick up and we will be posting our end results very shortly.

Hi everyone, Neve has done an excellent job! She came in well below budget, she was given £700 to refurbish the bedroom, and her total spend was £425, she did save money on painting the room herself with the help of Dad, she could have saved more on the paint as she used Farrow and Ball, she could have got it a little bit cheaper using B & Q self colour, also the client wanted a good quality carpet, we could have got a similar one about £50 cheaper,
total costings:
Curtains, lamps and bedding Reduced at Harry Corry £62.00
Carpet £190.00
Paint (Farrow & Ball - Teresa's green) £90.00
Picture frames / Dreamer Mirror Asda £23.00
Large picture The Range £30.00
Stickers Amazon £12.00
Small Niknaks £18.00

So all in all, she has made Prestige £275.00 for work completed. The client was very happy and they have a very happy teenager. Well done Neve. We wish Neve all the best for the future, and we are sure she will succeed in all her future projects.

DUNDEE'S GOT TALENT

At Prestige we really do care about helping and encouraging every one to have courage to believe in themselves, so we have taken on an apprentice called NEVE who is very interested in Art and Design. Neve made a story book aged 7 about her holiday adventures, and she makes jewellery to sell to family and friends. So Prestige have given her the task of Designing a room, we want her to take it from a 6 year old's room to a teenager's room. We have given her this picture to work around the design of the new room with a budget and we will post the results as soon as she has completed her task.
Also on Dundee's got talent the production of Beetlejuice from our The Launch Pad Studio was exceptional all performers were outstanding but there was definitely London West End Stars in this exceptional performance WELL DONE>
