Hi everyone, just a quick post to raise awareness.

If your roof is as old and worn as the one shown in this video, paying to have it cleaned is often a waste of money. Roofs in this condition have reached the end of their lifespan and are simply leaks waiting to happen. They’ve done their job and are usually at the stage where replacement should be considered.

Please be careful of anyone offering to clean a roof like this and charging large sums of money. A clean roof might look better for a short time, but it won’t solve the underlying issues or extend the life of a roof that’s already failing.

At No Drip Roofing, I never walk onto a job and immediately tell a customer they need a new roof. I always do my best to find the most cost-effective solution and save customers money wherever possible. However, with roofs in this condition, there comes a point where repairs or cleaning are no longer worthwhile, and the most sensible option is to start planning and budgeting for a replacement.

Honest advice isn’t always the cheapest option in the short term, but it will save you money and stress in the long run.

And to the person who quoted £1,500 to clean this roof… I’ll keep my thoughts to myself! 😅

This property had issues across all 5 chimneys, so we carried out a full set of repairs to get everything back to a solid, weatherproof standard.

✅ All chimney joints raked out and re-pointed
✅ New haunching installed on every chimney
✅ Slate repairs completed where needed
✅ Moss fully removed from the rear of the property

Everything is now secure, sealed, and looking the part 👌

If your chimney is showing signs of wear or damage, it’s always better to get it sorted early before it turns into a bigger (and more expensive) problem.

Back from holiday and straight back into it 👷‍♂️

The boys absolutely smashed this roof out the park 🔥 the framing is looking spot on. I’ll keep you all updated as we move onto the boarding and flat roof works — plenty of detailed bits still to be done before we push on, just waiting on the brickie to finish his part first.

We’ve also got 6 containers on the go getting framed, boarded and finished with a 2-layer system for Emey. Hoping to have them all wrapped up by Friday next week and then it’s straight onto the next project 💙

Full chimney overhaul completed 👇

This job involved a full strip back of the chimney right down to the pots. Over the years, the flaunching had just been repeatedly covered with more mortar, which unfortunately allowed moisture to soak through — leading to a damp wall inside the property.

We stripped everything back properly, removed all failed material, and installed fresh felt beneath the flaunching to prevent any future water ingress through the sandstone.

The chimney was then finished with new mortar, and fully repointed using lime mortar for a breathable, long-lasting finish 👌

Another job done right — protecting the property for years to come.

Hello everyone

Today we completed a flat roof for a lady who had previously been let down massively by another roofer. I won’t name names as that’s not my place, but unfortunately the roof had been completely stripped and left exposed for weeks.

As a result, water ingress caused her ceiling to collapse, and she had to move into respite accommodation as her home was no longer safe.

We were called in through a good friend to step in and get things sorted before Storm Dave arrives.

The new roof has been completed to a high standard:
• Fully insulated
• Fully boarded
• 2mm underlay
• 4mm cap sheet

All work comes with a 25-year guarantee, giving the customer full peace of mind.

I’m glad to say she no longer has to worry about water getting into her property.
