Great to take in the recently completed “Learning Sciences Innovation HUB” in Dundee, the stunning Oberlanders Architects designed project was completed for Robertson Group.

For this development we used Metal Technology Ltd curtain walling, windows and doors. Panel Systems Ltd. Metal panels and Dasco automatic door operators (additional details below).

3nr Rooflights constructed from Metal Technology System 17 curtain walling
6nr Metal Technology System 5-20D HI+ doors
Thermally efficient double glazed units using Saint-Gobain Cool-Lite Xtreme 60-28ii coatings to minimise solar heat gain through the façade, which reduces cooling costs and provides a comfortable environment internally

🗻 🚶‍➡️ In just over five weeks, our director (Ricky Shields) is heading to Nepal to trek to Everest Base Camp raising money for 's Centres.

Training for the gruelling hike is well underway for this tough challenge which is estimated to take up to 53 hours over 10 days assenting to an altitude of almost 17,600 ft.

“Whilst this is a huge bucket list item for us, we want to take the opportunity to raise money for Maggie’s Centres at the same time. Maggie’s offer welcoming and caring environments that provide support, information and practical advice to people dealing with a cancer diagnosis. They are an amazing charity, which we, like many know first hand as they have been a lifeline to some of our closest friends and family.

If you can, any donations you can manage makes a huge difference to the service they provide and we appreciate all of your support whether you can donate or not.”

The very impressive Parkhead Health and Care HUB recently completed for BAM UK & Ireland and designed by Hoskins Architects.

Avtek installed a mixture of RAICO UK & Ireland THERM+ 56 H-I timber/aluminium curtain wall, THERM+ A-I aluminium curtain walling, Aluprof UK MB-79N SI windows and Aluprof UK MB-86N Doors.

Curtain walling, windows and doors are complete with triple glazed units using Saint-Gobain Glass UK and Ireland Cool-Lite SKN183 and Planitherm Ultra N Coatings to provide energy efficient glazing with high performance solar control and thermal properties. Door automation supplied by Dasco Entrance Technology and window actuation by WM Brown.

Next up, some progress pictures showcasing the progress being made on the final block at Moda Springside in Edinburgh. Metal Technology Ltd security tested PAS24 hardware has featured throughout this CDA designed project.

MODA Springside is based in the heart of the city as you can see from these still images and is delivering 476 state of the art homes designed exclusively for rent including a mix of studios, one to three-bed apartments and town houses.

Great to visit Monifieth learning over the weekend to take in the progress being made on all aspects. This school will be another first for Avtek delivering the first Passivhaus Trust school in Angus. We are installing Metal Technology Ltd curtain walling and doors.

Due to open in August 2025 and to be fully completed by summer 2026, the facility is designed by architects to meet Passivhaus standards and will combine energy efficiency with a high level of user comfort.

Avtek are delighted to share some progress on our business strategy with the installation of 156 solar panels at our Dunfermline manufacturing facility, this investment will generate a 70kW solar power system.
