As Wildflower Turf Accredited Partners we decided to do a wild flower experiment this year.

We replaced the front lawn with three distinct wild flower areas, using annuals and perrenials mixes in three forms: Wildflower Turf, Meadowscape Pro (wild flower seed in a special growing medium) and MeadowSow (wild flower seed).

We are really pleased with the results. The view from the window changes through the seasons and we are much happier waking up to see the beautiful flowers and not just grass.

Are you are thinking about introducing wild flowers into your garden? Contact us via our website www.gardensandplants.co.uk to find out how we can help.

We have not been able to stay up-to-date with posts because we are struggling to maintain our work load. However, we have invested in new technology to help us to become more efficient this year.
Nice to get some recognition for our efforts....

There is very little known about soil and we should do more research to learn how to protect it.
Mike Wood surprising to see Morocco on this list:
"Ten hotspots have been identified by the scientists involved, including: Canadian tundra; the Mexican plateau; high altitudes in South America; Morocco; the western Sahara; Israel’s Negev desert; the steppes of Kazakhstan; the grasslands and high plains of Tibet; and the Russian taiga."

Garden design and build just finished. The client was finding it difficult to get around the garden, so we were asked to design a garden that they could fully enjoy again.
The client purchased two new sets of sliding doors, each with very a low threshold between the house and the decking. Large steps are an obstacle so the porcelain tiles have been laid with a gradual slope down from the composite decking.
's multi-slate cladding with Florence beige coping stones adorn the two planters that make for a central feature and disguise the sloping paths.
It's the plants that make the garden in our designs and Jan's planting here will mature to fill the available space with colour and beauty, supply the finishing touches to the planters and attract wildlife into the garden.
This is a lovely new garden for a lovely family and we hope they can find lots of time to enjoy it together.

A partial garden design project to replace an unattractive concrete block wall with a curvaceous alternative.
Deep, shapely flower beds are the foundations of this planting delight
The Acer Sangokaku feature tree looks different everyday and has been rightfully given pride-of-place, surrounded by the round wall.
Jan's planting will mature to fill out the beds giving all year interest that will attract more wildlife into the garden.
This garden has to be seen from the multiple seating positions to be fully appreciated.

Finished garden project for relaxing, entertaining and just looking at in limited space.
Hardwood decking extends the kitchen into the garden.
Level changes add interest.
Porcelain patio separates the eating area and the raised bed adds informal seating.
The water feature is provides an attractive view from the patio and water trickling down provides a more relaxing atmosphere.
All finished off with planting by Jan.
