No, you can't just keep adding polish, and here's why...
Layers of polish built-up over years as opposed to regular stripping and resealing can become extremely difficult to remove and result in permanent damage. Luckily we were able to bring this stunning floor back but you can see the amount of residue that came out. Many floors have not been so lucky. As hard-wearing as these floors are, they do require proper maintenance to keep them looking their best, but don't we all. 😁

Conservative restoration is about being invisible, I must have gone through 10 samples for each colour to find the best match.

This was a truly rare find. Curved designs required the most skilled of the master setters to design and lay. Someone had nailed a wooden floor over this work of art, cracking every 4th tile along the entire floor. Now it's back to its former glory.

These holes were deep enough for a family of foxes, sometimes the subfloor looses integrity and we have to dig until we find part of the infill layer solid enough for the new concrete. A surface repair would have left them in the same position not long down the line. Now they have confidence they won't fall down a fox hole.

This gorgeous floor needed a lot of attention. Large areas were either missing or destroyed while years of paint and grime had been allowed to accumulate. We couldn't be happier with the result, what a shame it would have been to loose this floor!
