Its been so nice to be able to get out and do some pruning this week.

Saw a lovely fledgling Robin and spied the nest tucked away safely in a bay tree so we won't be trimming that one yet.

Keep a look out for slow worms in long grass, we spied one last week!

6 months on this meadow that me and Rich installed is really starting to come together! It was lovely to recieve these pics with the comments:

"We thought you might like to see some photos of the stunning wild flower bed. The photos don’t really do it justice.....We have a staggering amount of bees and a lovely variety of butterflies. Only cabbage whites last year but we have already seen meadow blues and Tortoiseshell butterflies"

Absolutely chuffed to bits! That's what its all about. πŸ˜€πŸ˜€πŸ₯‚

So lovely today to see the Wisteria and honeysuckle together here, honeysuckle is night scented, and attracts insects that bats like to feed on. It's such an amazing plant for wildlife and a lovely sight in early May.

Spring jobs! Scarifying and aerating the lawn to stimulate healthy growth, ready for over seeding. Border editing - allowing self seeders to colonise spaces that would otherwise be barren, thinning ruthlessly to keep them in check elsewhere. This technique can keep soil shaded and create a wonderful, pollinator friendly space - without spending a fortune on plants!

Busy day today scarifying and aerating these lawns! Removing thatch and moss and improving drainage, strengthening the grass roots to allow them to thrive. We also repaired holes and dips. Next stage will be to seed the newly extended lawn areas and to overseed where we have scarified.
