☀️ Hitting the high 20s in Eastbourne today! ☀️

If your conservatory is currently feeling like an absolute oven, here is a quick fact about exactly why that happens—and how to permanently fix it.

The Fact: Older polycarbonate and basic glass roofs have a "U-value" (the measure of how easily heat passes through a material) of around 2.4. This means the sun's radiant heat pours straight through the roof and gets trapped inside your home, creating a massive greenhouse effect.

By upgrading to a lightweight, highly insulated solid tiled roof (like the SupaLite system), you drop that U-value down to an incredible 0.15.

What does that actually mean for the room? It means the thick EPS insulation physically blocks the sun’s heat from baking the space during the summer, while completely trapping your central heating inside during the winter. It stops the room being a seasonal greenhouse and turns it back into a comfortable, usable extension of your house, regardless of the weather outside.

Even though we are only in mid-May, the sun is actually at the exact same height in the sky as it is in mid-August. This means your conservatory roof is taking the absolute maximum brunt of solar heat right now, even if the morning air still feels a bit crisp.
