I just wanna say thank you for everyone’s lovely comments and for those who came over the last few days.

Unfortunately I’ve not able to reply to all individually but I just wanna say that I am very grateful to all the people I have met through LLA. It really has been a journey full of joy. And please worry about me - I guess I’m lucky I’ll be closing on my own terms. I did debate whether we would just increase our prices, but as a plant lover first and foremost, I just couldn’t do it in the current cost of living crisis. But for all I’ve done with LLA and the customer friendships I’ve made over the years - I’m optimistic of the future!

Some has asked when we close - it is likely to some time in November and earlier if I sell all the stock! So please come in for 30% off all plants and pots including accessories (except the grace cooper pots, they are worth every penny!)

CLOSING DOWN SALE

Everything 30% off (apart from Grace Cooper Pots)

It is a hard decision to make but with heavy heart we have decided to close leafy love affair. We have opened our door almost 2 years ago in hope to sell high quality but affordable plants. Along the way, I have built up an amazing group of customers; plantified some amazing venues and make some long lasting relationships. IFYKYK.

However, with everything getting so expensive hence having need to increase the price of the LLA plants, I started feeling that the business was against all the reasons why I started LLA back in 2020. So *deep breath*, we are closing LLA but before I do so, we will be leave-ing a wee gift.

All plants and LLA pots will be 30% off. We will be closing our online order so please pop into the store to receive 30% discount.

Life plant drawing at LLA this Thursday!

It will be a fun evening with .itski and myself. Don’t worry if you can’t draw like me. Nat will be demonstrating/guiding you along the way.

The outline of the evening as below:

We will start with a few short ‘poses’ of plants (fast sketching) - a fun way to loosen up your hands!

Then we will have medium plant ‘poses’ where you can focus more on the details like lighting and shade etc.

We will end with a 30 long ‘poses’ where you can relaxed and enjoy drawing with your friends and your plants over a drink and nibbles!

HAPPY MOTHERS DAY

Shoutout to all the mothers and (plant mamas) on this lovely Sunday morning. I remember when I launched LLA last year, it was so mad juggling being a mother and also a small business owner. Julius would join me in the store (plant based day care) and constantly knock the plants over, overwater the plants and hide all my tools 😂. However he has always been one of my biggest supporters giving me hugs and laughs - one time he handed over a philodendron pink princess to a customer and said “you can have it!” (Our most generous staff member) 🤣

I hope all the mothers have a lovely day! Don’t forget we are offering FREE delivery this weekend including gift wrapping and notes. We also just received a HUGE delivery this weekend - so why not treat yourself!

Yes that’s right! At LLA we are offering free delivery now that I, Chief Plant Officer have Sundays off with the help of our new Vice President of Botanicals (yes she has a degree in horticulture!!!)

In order to celebrate, we are now offering FREE DELIVERY on weekends - your plant will be personally hand delivered by Marcus, Julius and I - whilst we pitstop softplays, parks, the beach and any places servicing ice cream (recommendations please!)

As some of our regulars will know, we will also offering free plant chat by the door step - but you can also decline that option 🤣.

MEDINILLA PICCOLINI

As a houseplant lover, I am always more into foliage than flowers - however since coming back from my trip to Taiwan I have a new found love of these chandelier flowers. In the wild it grows like an epiphytic (when it finds a trunk it grows upwards). I think this plant has a perfect balance between masculinity and feminism where the foliage are thick with defined lines through their leaves and the flowers remind me a ballerina tutu (see picture four for a wee snap I found in the zoo in Taiwan 😍😍😍)

Top tips: if you wanna see amazing foliage - head to the zoo!
