Musselburgh Windsor kicked off their 2026 league campaign in style yesterday afternoon with an impressive 6β2 victory over Falkirk, delivering a confident and commanding team performance from start to finish.
The Blues flew out of the blocks and were 3β0 up within the opening 20 minutes. Oliviaβs corner created the opener, with Harmony reacting first to fire home. Minutes later, Harmony was at the heart of the action again when she won a penalty after being brought down in the box, and Olivia stepped up to convert confidently from the spot. Excellent passing and quick one-twos through Savannah, Olivia and Zoa then carved Falkirk open once more, allowing Olivia to grab her second with a composed finish.
Falkirk pulled one back after 23 minutes to remind Windsor that the game was far from over, but the girls responded positively and continued to move the ball well through the lines. Their pressure paid off again from another corner on 32 minutes, when a goalmouth scramble resulted in an unfortunate Falkirk own goal to make it 4β1. The visitors struck again just before half-time with a well-taken finish, leaving the score at 4β2 at the break.
Windsor came out for the second half determined to maintain their advantage, and the defensive line stood firm throughout. Nina, Lexi, Quinn and Laila were outstanding at the back, winning key tackles and driving the team forward to create further opportunities.
Just minutes into the second half, Callie broke through the defence and coolly slotted home Windsorβs fifth goal. The final goal of the afternoon came courtesy of Zoa, who drove to the byline, cut back inside brilliantly and finished confidently to seal a deserved 6β2 victory.
It was a dominant display from the Blues, full of excellent teamwork, intelligent decision-making and attacking football - the perfect way to begin the new league season. π
