A transformation of an existing stone-built Edinburgh home, combining careful conservation work with a contemporary new extension.

The project involved significant alterations to the existing building — including the careful demolition and reconstruction of the rear corner, new structural openings formed through the original stone façade and the construction of a new light-filled kitchen and dining extension.

Original materials and character were retained wherever possible, while new elements were designed to sit comfortably alongside the existing house.

This is only part of the finished project which includes conservation-approved double-glazed sash & case windows, extensive roof glazing, bespoke joinery and cabinetry manufactured on site, and a completely reworked open-plan kitchen and dining space.
