It's been a while since our last post because we've been rushed off our feet creating beautiful gardens across Edinburgh and the Lothians. After 365 days of January (or so it feels), we've hit 2025 head-on and are already booked until September 2025! We're taking on our final jobs for this year and it's only February 4th. Please get in touch if you'd like a FREE estimate. To celebrate the end of the longest month of the year, we're doing a to one of our many standout jobs of 2024. We installed 110 square metres of stunning composite deck in East Lothian, extending the living space into the outdoors for this lovely couple and their family. It's finally stopped raining and if, like us, you're out in the garden enjoying this lovely Easter weekend, you may have spotted some areas that need attention.

This customer wanted a new lush lawn and slab area for summer evenings and outdoor activities and, we're proud to say, there's no filter applied to any of our after shots. We provide after care tips that guarantee our customers a lush and beautiful lawn.

Decks rot. It’s a fact of life but when they are built incorrectly, they rot much faster and can become more dangerous. We never cut corners so our decks last much longer. They are all underpinned by our years of experience and careful construction of the frame. On recent jobs, we've seen old decks that have been set straight into the ground, decks built without proper frames or lining and even decks with dangerously weak points. Do you know what's going on beneath the surface of yours?

Parking permits and . It's all over the news right now and if your street is anything like mine, parking is now at a premium. But don't worry because we're on hand to create new off-street parking areas for our customers. When permits arrived in one street recently, we created a beautiful and practical new driveway in this customer's front garden. We took down a small wall, dug out the old turf and removed the old gates. We then laid the sub base and screeded the aggregate. With solid foundations, we laid new monoblocks on top. Our driveways never warp or sink but stay perfectly level every time. We built a wall on both sides to retain the bushes and the higher ground, applying our years of experience to ensure a job well done!

Is your deck slippery? Are your deck boards beginning to lift or crack?

That's exactly what was worrying this customer who had two old deck areas that were becoming dangerous and weren't adding anything to their outdoor space.

First, we took apart the old decks and removed the old bushes and the plants. We then lifted the old patio. We built a new frame and bolted it to the wall and posted it into the ground for strength. On top of the frame, we laid a new hard wearing composite deck, wrapping around the house with steps leading up.

The front garden was also cleared for easier maintainenace and we installed another frame and deck to the house with steps on both sides for access. We finished the job with a small wall built around the border of the house and three new sleeper beds in the front garden for planting. We think it looks beautiful.

*BEFORE and AFTER* When customers see what we can do, they often invite us back for more work!

The first job we did for this lovely couple was digging out a small area of their garden and creating a new parking bay. We built a surrounding breezeblock wall before finishing it with Indian sandstone slabs to give it a sleek finish and monoblocked the bay throughout.

They loved it so much that they asked us back to transform 36 METRES OF DRIVEWAY! We removed the old tarmac, carefully preparing the subsurface before relaying it with 9,000 INDIVIDUAL MONOBLOCKS to match the new parking bay. Not only was the size and scale of this job impressive but we did a lot below the surface too. We created three new manholes, blending them seemlessly to be virtually invisible and replaced an old drain with a new aqua drain to improve drainage. We're very proud of this one!

Are you looking to create a herb garden, vegetable plot or dress up a patio area for the summer? We're making bespoke, handcrafted wooden planters for a LIMITED TIME ONLY! Made to your exact specifications, all orders are requested before 27th April 2023. Delivery can be provided within Edinburgh and the Lothians. (Maximum length for drop off is 2.5m). These beautiful and fully lined planters were dropped off to a delighted client this morning and will shortly be home to a beautiful new veg garden. This job is definitely one of our favourites - it's got the before and after wow factor! Our client had a hard-to-maintain garden and a tight driveway with limited parking. In just 2.5 weeks, we dug, filled, flattened, monoblocked, built, and edged. Finished off with beautiful curved walls and pebbled beds, we think it looks pretty slick!

Our is to never compromise on groundwork when building a driveway. You may find a cheaper quote but question it - cheaper usually means a shallower dig out and less hardcore which ends up dipping and can lead to long-term problems. This driveway was built over an underground spring - five months on and its pristine!
