‼️🚨THIS IS YOUR SIGN TO GET YOUR CARAVAN BOILERS CHECKED🚨‼️

A customer contacted me regarding a gas check on a caravan, after seeing my summer deal. Late last night I attended the caravan. On initial lighting of the boiler, I noticed the flame colour wasn't looking as it should.

I went on and took apart the boiler to conduct a service to find the burner and heat exchanger was covered in carbon deposits (due to incomplete combustion) which has then caused the boiler to begin spilling carbon monoxide into the customers caravan. The insulation boards were also damaged, meaning this is safety concern alone as well as the carbon monoxide.

The only option at this point was to disconnect the boiler from the gas and electric making it somewhat safe until a new boiler is fitted.

If this hadn’t been checked when it had, this could’ve been extremely dangerous and potentially fatal.

Please remember Caravan boilers are just as important and need to be checked every 12 months just like your home boiler and appliances.

This evening I attended a property, to carry out a routine boiler service. Immediately upon entering the property, I was welcomed by a strong smell of gas.

Straight away, I was able to recognise that something wasn’t right. Following Investigation, I was able to locate an extreme gas leak on the main gas line.

I opened all windows and ventilated the property throughout. Advised that the best point of call in this situation, was for the customer to evacuate until further instruction. Following this, I turned off the electricity to ensure safety of the customer and their property.

Immediately, I rang the gas emergency services. Due to the severity of the gas leak, they advised they would be attending within the hour.

Please take this as a reminder, to understand the importance of regular boiler services. Any smells of gas must be reported to myself or gas services without hesitation.

This situation could have been a lot worse, if I hadn’t attended this evening.

Always happy to help, at any time of day 👍 safety first! 👏🏽

I’m unavailable this coming week, and will be returning to work on Friday after lunch.

👏🏽‼️CUSTOMER REVIEW‼️👏🏽

Last week, I took job on at barrow to help a woman who had been let down by a previous gas engineer. Despite barrow being out of my working zone, I could tell this lady was in need.

The previous engineer had failed to recognise that the lead gas line, was illegal. Meaning, this was deemed as an unsafe environment and the lady was none the wiser.

Following investigation, I had to renew gas line, using copper. Afterwards, the gas fire was tested and commissioned. Once I knew everything was correct and in order, I was able to confidently leave the customer with a safe property.

All building, brick work, plastering and installation of surround was also carried out by me.

I always aim to go above and beyond in all aspects of my work, to ensure a safe, risk- free environment.
