Caring for mature trees is about more than just looks – it’s about keeping them healthy.

Here’s an example of how our team recently cleared weeds around an oak tree. This simple step helps prevent competition for moisture and nutrients, protects the roots, and gives the tree a better chance to flourish if the tree was alive. Unfortunately this one isn't but it makes for a lovely feature.

When our client reached out, their garden rockery had seen better days — tired, overgrown, and full of dead plants. But beneath the neglect, there was potential waiting to shine.

We started by clearing out the old growth, digging over the compacted soil.

Then came the fun part: planting a vibrant selection of rockery plants to bring texture, colour, and life back to the space and finishing it with layering it with pea gravel. The result?

A refreshed, low-maintenance focal point that looks amazing all year round.

Yesterday, we spent the day transforming a bare rockery into a vibrant circle of colour. We carefully planted a variety of species, including fragrant Lavenders, hardy Heathers, and bold, blooming Rhododendrons. At the heart of the design stands our striking centrepiece — Cotoneaster Cornubia — with its elegant arching form and promise of bright berries to come.

To complete the transformation, we defined the border with a clean edge and re-seeded the surrounding grass, framing the planting beautifully. It’s exciting to imagine how it will all take shape in the coming weeks, bursting into life with texture, colour, and seasonal interest.

We can’t wait to see it grow and thrive.
