Here’s how a cushion really comes together behind the scenes.

If you’re new here, this is the part of my work I love sharing most. Its the small, simple steps that turn fabric into something finished.

I’ve been making a Daisy print cushion and given it a scalloped rick‑rack edge. It’s a tiny detail, but one of those touches that makes a big difference to how the whole piece feels.

Follow along for more behind‑the‑scenes making, calm studio days, and new designs as they unfold.

After a busy day, this is the moment I look forward to. I open my book, settle into the covers, and enjoy the warm glow from my handmade lampshade spill gently across the room.

There’s something almost magical about light that can change the atmosphere. It can slow everything down and tell a story of rest, of home, of being exactly where you need to be.

Tonight, this is my Sunday ritual — a cosy glow, a good book, and a little piece of handmade warmth lighting the way into the calm.

A print inspired by honeymoon petals 🌸

See how I make a lampshade in my Pressed Flower fabric, a print inspired by the tiny petals I pressed on my honeymoon, now reimagined in a custom colourway to complement a client’s existing palette.

Every time I work with this print, I remember pressing those tiny petals on our honeymoon in between the pages of my book. They are a little faded but I still have them.

I love using this fabric and creating a lampshade for someone’s home feels especially meaningful to me.

Handmade Norfolk, created with the same care that went into the original pressed flowers.

I’ve been working on a new Seaweed print cushion and exploring options with different trims. I added a fringe to this one and here is the last step before it’s finished.

This part is always my favourite. Opening up the brush fringe is such a small step, but it’s one of those moments where you can really see the piece come together.

Thanks for being here and following along with the process.

This one is part of a small batch I’m making in the studio this week.

A little behind‑the‑scenes moment from the studio …

I’ve been making a fresh batch of Seaweed print napkins, and as I was cutting and sewing, I found myself thinking about how these small, simple pieces end up becoming part of someone’s home.

Cutting, sewing, pressing, then rolling each napkin and tying it with natural cord, knowing it’ll be unwrapped again around a table somewhere.

This Seaweed design always takes me back to the Norfolk coastline to the little details you only notice when you slow down.

I love that something inspired by those quiet coastal moments can end up being part of someone’s everyday ritual.

All made here in my Norfolk studio, in small batches, with a lot of care.

The second I stepped inside… suddenly I’m back at the moment this design began.

I popped into the fish shop to pick up some prawns, and it instantly brought these coastal prints to mind.

It’s funny how a place can do that — a glimpse, a colour, and that moment you’re right back where the idea first sparked.

The Fishes lino print design is inspired by the small local fish shop, with its striking blue awning, brightly coloured signs and a delicious selection of neatly displayed fresh fish inside.

So when I got home, I pulled the fabrics out and started turning them over again. It felt like reconnecting with the beginning — and I wanted to share that moment with you.

If you know North Norfolk, you’ll understand the feeling. If you don’t, these prints are my way of bringing a little of that coastal character into your home.

Refurbishing this lampshade for a cosy Norfolk cottage felt like the perfect reminder of why I love working this way. Instead of replacing the whole piece, I stripped it back to the frame and rebuilt it using my Seagrass fabric — giving it a fresh life without adding anything unnecessary to waste.

The original was a bit dented but we could reuse the frame, some new fabric and finishing the edges meant it because something beautiful again.

Our Seagrass print in natural tones, hangs perfectly in this cosy cottage with vaulted ceiling and traditional beams.

There’s something really satisfying about seeing a piece transformed and being ready for its next chapter in a very cosy home.

A step‑by‑step look at how I turn my Marina fabric into a finished lampshade — starting with lining up the panel so the pattern flows smoothly around the curve.

I love this calm and quiet, work. Pressing then smoothing the fabric and easing the panel into place.

Then comes the tucking in the fabric and any stray ends and finishing. I always take a moment at the end for a little twirl to check its all ready for its new home.

All crafted here in my Norfolk studio, one thoughtful step at a time.

So much of my inspiration comes from the Norfolk coastline — the colours, the shapes, the small details you only notice when you slow down.

It’s such a lovely place to sit and sketch, even on those warm, breezy days when I use a pebble to keep the seaweed in place.

This seaweed sketch is one of those moments. It’s the starting point for the Seaweed print, and I wanted to share a little of that with you.

Thank you for following along with my work and being part of this journey.
