Lawns & More North Norfolk is back up and running and it’s been great to get stuck in again.

Over the past few days we’ve been busy with path clearing & salting, general tidy ups, and even a bit of drilling work.

🎄 Christmas is approaching fast! Hard to believe we’re already heading into the festive season — feels like only yesterday that Lawns & More North Norfolk was out in the spring sunshine completing some brilliant lawn renovations across the area. 🌱✨

Here’s a little throwback to earlier this year, when we transformed several tired lawns into healthy, lush, vibrant spaces ready for summer.

🌧 Blimey, it’s been a wet one!
North Norfolk has seen some of its highest early-winter rainfall in years, with parts of the coast recording well above the monthly average already — no wonder the gardens are feeling it!

This morning’s job was all about getting a newly acquired garden winter-ready. Last week I began by clearing and weeding the borders, removing unwanted plants and giving a few shrubs their winter prune. All this prep was to make space for the new plants the customer wants adding to bring colour, life and a bit of pizazz throughout the year.

Today we moved on to mulching the beds. We chose a compost mulch rather than woodchip — mainly because the family dogs have a tendency to drag anything interesting back into the house! Compost mulch keeps everyone happy and gives the soil a real boost.

A big thank you to Baileys of Norfolk Ltd for another smooth delivery and efficient service — makes the job so much easier. 👍

✅ Job Completed This Morning!

A little something different today — added featheredge cladding to two sides of this wood store as requested by the customer.
Big thanks to Economy Timber LTD for supplying the timber and hardware 👏

I don’t usually take on this type of job, but I thought I’d give it a go — and I’m really pleased with how it turned out!
Just needs a coat of paint to match the shed, then it’ll be ready to fill with logs 🔥

Also carried out the maintenance mow on the lawn while I was there — finishing touches make all the difference! ✂️🌿

🌿 🌿 Autumn Lawn Revival in Full Swing! 🍂

Another busy morning for me in this garden— I started by removing deep-rooted dandelions to clear the way for healthy new growth. Then came scarifying, overseeding, and top dressing to give this lawn a real autumn boost.

☔️ A wet and miserable start to the day here in North Norfolk – but every cloud really does have a silver lining! The rain might be gloomy for us, but it’s fantastic for our gardens. It softens the ground, helps new seed establish, and gives lawns a much-needed drink after those drier spells. 🌱

This morning I’ve been out aerating lawns – making the most of the damp conditions:

✅ Hollow Core Aeration – removing small plugs of soil to relieve compaction, improve drainage, and give roots more room to grow. Ideal for lawns that feel spongey or struggle with moss.

✅ Solid Tine Aeration – spiking the soil without removing plugs. This allows air, water and nutrients to reach the roots and keeps lawns strong and healthy year-round.

Both methods are brilliant for boosting soil structure and encouraging a greener, thicker, and healthier lawn. 🌿

🌿🍂 This Morning’s Job – Autumn/Winter Reset 🍂🌿

Another garden brought back to life and ready for the colder months! This morning’s work included:
✔️ Weeding the driveway & paths
✔️ Leaf blowing & clearing
✔️ Lavender pruning
✔️ Sorting flower beds & containers
✔️ Planting 50 mixed narcissi bulbs + 24 pansies & violas 🌼
✔️ Lawn mowing
✔️ Trimming back an overhanging ivy bush & wisteria 🌿

The result? A fresh, tidy space ready to flourish again in spring! 🌱

Even better – this lovely garden is now part of my regular maintenance round 🙌 Future plans include enclosing the log store, more planting, and regular mowing through the rest of the year.

I was also treated to a proper gardener’s reward – a hot cup of tea and some chocolate Hobnobs 🍪☕ (my personal favourite!). What’s your go-to biscuit with a cuppa?
