Say hello to Telodeinopus aoutii, the Ghana speckled leg millipede, a type of giant millipede native to Ghana 🇬🇭
They are an absolutely beautiful species, very active above ground and semi arboreal so the adults can often be found climbing on branches, the terrarium background and even on the glass.
Seen here enjoying some organic courgette from and organic banana from Sainsbury’s. They have been raised on only the finest foods.
I have been keeping the adults for a few years and now have many juveniles available for rehoming.
They are about 6-8cm and a year - year 1/2 old.
Adults reach 15-18cm and live for around five years (Last 2 photos)
They are easy to care for favouring a humid environment with plenty of substrate and leaf litter and do well at average room temperature in a room heated in winter.
I keep them with giant orange isopods who are also very active above ground, both are a joy to keep and both are available for sale.
We have several isopod species available including dairy cows and dwarf whites.
All of our bioactive terrarium inhabitants are captive bred, mostly by us in house and supplied to you in ventilated containers with substrate, leaf litter and food.
Millipedes available in quantities of 1/3/5/10
Can you spot the teeny tiny baby orange isopod in the first photo?! ☺️
