Congratulations to our Graphics Manager Andy who has cycled to Girona and raises £1200 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association!

Over two weeks in April, Andy Waddington one of OSP’s Graphics Managers, cycled to Girona with a friend to ride the Klassmark Traka, a gravel cycling event held annually in Girona, north of Barcelona. In completing the 800 mile ride he raised £1200 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association. Highlights of the trip included a rest day in Carcassonne, three days crossing the Pyrenees and a well earned coffee in one of Girona’s smartest cafes.

We are proud to announce the planning approval of Parcels C, D and VC for the Mindenhurst Masterplan in Deepcut, Surrey.

The design team worked in association with Taylor Wimpey plc to create a sustainably developed site that complemented the surrounding area and will provide new homes to the community.

The site is 3.42ha in size and is located on the west side of the new Mindenhurst Road opposite the recently constructed Lakeside Nursery & Primary Academy. The expanded settlement will be a socially vibrant community, supporting a sustainable lifestyle where occupants can live, work and play whilst allowing for organic change and flexibility.

The application site within the masterplan will bring a village centre for the community and 123 new homes including 103 private and 20 affordable dwellings. The site includes well-placed buildings and attractive street scenes which have an architectural approach that relates to the surrounding context, whilst being progressive in its detail.

The quality of design and the general environment will be high, reflecting a contemporary interpretation of Surrey village patterns. It incorporates local features of character, especially those having a military or canal association, as well as reflecting the heathland setting.

The Farnham Office enjoyed a sunny walk through the local area, organised by Kristy the Office Manager.

The lunchtime routes have become a great way to encourage staff to take time away from their desks, get some fresh air and chat to one another while exploring Farnham town.

OSP Architecture are pleased to announce an approval of a recent householder application for a chalet bungalow in Bracklesham Bay, West Sussex.

The proposals are for a raised roof from gabled to flat creating two-storeys with front extension, installation of a chimney, changes to fenestration, replacement garage, and additional detached outbuildings.

The concept is a crisp and contemporary remodeling of elevations considering nautical themes and materials to reclad and re-elevate the existing dwelling. Rhythmic detailing and symmetrical proportions are applied in a solid and void pattern to create an elegant composition.

The proposed alterations and extension will, through their high-quality design and use of renewable energy, result in a significant enhancement over the existing dwelling improving the character of the area and its energy efficiency.

The new proposal of a linear style with a flat roof recessed first floor are reminiscent of buildings in the surrounding area and will fit appropriately with the adjacent properties within Bracklesham Bay.

In October, the OSP Architecture team attended Woldingham Schools’ Governors invite for the official opening of the new Sixth Form/Library Centre.

The day was full of celebration, prayers/service, tree planting ceremony and blessing of the new building, as well as an official tour of the building’s accommodation and grounds.

The new building features large north-facing windows, which let natural light into the library and collaborative work room, silent study areas, staff office accommodation, and café area for the sixth formers. There is also a break-out accessible balcony that looks over the netball courts and a panorama of the immediate landscape and mature trees beyond.

Thank you to Woldingham School’s Governors and staff for inviting the OSP Team to celebrate the official opening of the Sixth Form Centre and new Library. Congratulations to Steve, Graham, Nick and the rest of the team who strived to deliver excellence when working on the project.

OSP Architecture are delighted to announce the recent planning approval for the development of parcels I and J Mindenhurst, Deepcut which received unanimous approval at the Surrey Heath planning committee.

Taylor Wimpey and the design team worked closely with officers to create a scheme of 120 new homes in a community and landscape led development, which is part of the wider emerging new community on the former Princess Royal Barracks.

The proposal focuses on developing a distinctive parcel character, while at the same time, forming a cohesive relationship with the wider development parcels. It has been key to form strong legible routes into and through the parcel, using the existing landscape features on the site to form quality amenity and well defined, human scale place making.

OSP Architecture are pleased to announce the recent planning approval for the redevelopment of Stocklund Square, Cranleigh which received unanimous approval at the Waverley Borough Council planning committee on the 21st August 2024.

Stocklund Square is a late 1960’s development of flats over retail midway along Cranleigh High Street, on the southern side. The application proposes to provide frontage buildings as a new glazed “see through” café building and an enclosed lightweight kiosk, creating a more enclosed, active piazza, with enhanced shopfronts to the inboard shops.

The development would support the vitality of Cranleigh as a vibrant village by making efficient use of land, offering economic regeneration and improving the activity and amenity of the existing Square and the role it plays within the wider Cranleigh Conservation Area.

Approval was recently granted for the 30no. dwelling development at Flat Farm, Hambrook for our client Dandara Southern.

This reserved matters application will deliver a development of houses, bungalows and maisonettes providing a mix of rented, first homes and market dwellings across the site.

The outline application set the parameters as a starting point to build from, with the emerging scheme reappraising the constraints and context so the final designs crafted the new dwellings into a strong landscaped led edge of settlement development.

OSP Architecture celebrated 40 years in practice. They were joined at Farnham Castle by friends and colleagues, staff, and special guests Peter O’Keefe and Danny Scanlon.

It was a pleasure to mark this milestone with so many people who have been a part of our journey over the past 40 years, at a very special venue with glorious weather to match.

We look forward to continuing the journey together, for many more years to come.

This high street site had a previous consent for 26 flats, which proved unviable. The revised scheme is for 35 apartments, now with a revised S106 consented by London Borough of Croydon.

The PPA process involved Croydon Design Officers and a requirement to interpret the existing Art Deco garage building on the sloping site.

OSP worked with clients Shanly Homes on an outline application for 78 new homes in Chiddingfold, Surrey. The scheme received unanimous approval at local level in 2023.

The emerging design proposals respond to consultee and case officer/design expert comments and a firm understanding of the local character of Chiddingfold.

The scheme will also include the retention and enhancement of existing boundary hedgerows and trees to screen the development and increase the ecological value of the site, and provision for communal public open space offering recreational opportunities for residents and visitors.
