At Gilly’s Electrical, we’ve always believed in supporting our local community, and today we’re standing firmly behind our village tearoom.
Since it opened in August 2025, the tearoom has become a real lifeline for so many people. It’s a warm, friendly place where locals — especially older residents and those living on their own — can come in for a chat, a cuppa, and a bit of company. It’s one of the few places in the village where people genuinely feel connected.
But new restrictions now mean the tearoom has to close earlier during the week, shut at 3pm on Saturdays, and stay closed on Sundays. Sundays are their busiest day and the one that brings the most people together. Losing that will hit the community hard.
The tearoom is also part of the Chatty Café Scheme, which helps tackle loneliness. Taking away weekend opening hours removes a safe, social space that many people rely on.
We don’t think that’s right — and we’re asking everyone to help.

Let’s work together to keep our tearoom open and protect a place that means so much to our village.
