Today in Forest Row, we removed an overgrown conifer hedge, reclaiming the back corner of a lovely customer's garden. To preserve as much habitat as possible, we left the stems in place.The logs were added to a previous habitat pile to extend its life, and the customer wanted to keep all the chippings for w**d suppression. And before anyone asks I did a thorough check for any nesting birds before I started the works

Before and after of an end-weight reduction to prevent this beautiful tree from failing due to a cavity at the base. This is another great example of how we can retain a tree rather than simply removing it preserving vital wildlife habitat and conserving nature for future generations.

​Plus, it provides some much-needed shade at this time of year! We ran the waste through our shiny new chipper and used the chip to top up the existing pathway. The area is looking much cleaner, and our client has total peace of mind that the tree is safe for everyone to walk under for years to come.
