Highland Candles

Highland Candles Handmade scented soy candles in a range of fragrances to suit everyone. If only it was that simple! What works for one, does not mean will work for the next.

I started making candles, in what seems like a life time ago after buying a candle making kit. Of course, everything worked perfectly and I thought to myself, this candle making lark is EASY so off I went and bought soy wax, assorted fragrances and some wicks!!! I soon learnt after many mistakes, there was a lot more to it than melting wax, adding fragrances and sticking any old wick in a glass! E

very fragrance oil behaves differently and in my naivety, I thought one wick would do absolutely everything.......but it didn't and still doesn't. After extensive and very often frustrating testing, I believe I have built up a range of lovely fragrant candles. They range from flowery to fruity to, hopefully everything in between. I even have a 'mandle' section for the men as I have found a lot of men like them too. I will be continually adding to the range if I see a fragrance that I like the sound of! I do hope you enjoy them as much as I have enjoyed making them. Angie # # #

Wow is all I can say about Ross County Fair! What a fantastically well organised day. Thank you to everyone that stopped by and bought off Highland Candles, you practically cleared me out of my melts and quite a few of my candle fragrances. It was none stop from start to finish and I'm now in from walking the dogs and enjoying my Highland Gin that it treated myself to and very nice it is too. Thanks again to everyone for a very enjoyable day. Lots of love Angie x

I will be at the Ross County Football Stadium tomorrow from 10am until 4pm. It's not been a good year for us Crafters with Covid 19 with most of our events being cancelled. I must admit I am looking forward to getting out into the 'real world' again! Hope to see you there. You won't be able to miss me as I will be the one with the bright yellow penguin mask on!! Thank you to everyone that stopped by yesterday and purchased off HIGHLAND CANDLES. I had a brilliant day and it was so lovely seeing old and new faces appear at my gazebo! I have been extremely quiet on here for the last few months. As many of you may know, Highland Candles is not my main job and I work full time for the NHS. As you can imagine it has been a very trying time for all us key workers, not just for the NHS. We are having to deal with a situation that none of us have ever seen before and it has been very stressful trying to come to terms with what has become 'the new normal'. My husband has been furloughed for 2 months now and he has really shown me that he is the most amazing man. From being a workaholic to 'Stay at Home', he has accepted the change with good grace and just got on with it. And on the upside, he finally had the time to do my candle room!!! I do not have to keep him out of the kitchen and can make as much mess as I like and close the door when I'm done too.
