The project comprised substantial remodelling, reconfiguration, and extension works to establish a more generous open-plan kitchen, dining, and living environment oriented towards the sea. Opening up the rear elevation of the original 1910–12 house exposed the layered fabric of the building, revealing evidence of successive alterations from the 1930s and post-war period. The structural intervention required a specialist temporary works strategy designed and coordinated by WatercoDatrys. A further architectural challenge lay in resolving the fragmented relationship between the ground and second floors, which had previously been served by two separate staircases. Through careful 3D modelling in ArchiCAD, the vertical circulation and spatial sequence were tested and refined, informing the design and placement of a bespoke staircase that now unifies all three floors.
The works also encompassed a comprehensive upgrade of the building services and thermal performance, enabling the house to operate primarily through a combination of an air source heat pump and photovoltaic systems, with gas-fired boilers retained for supplementary demand where required. Construction was managed on site by , while the hard and soft landscape design was developed and overseen by
