Hollow walls come in all sorts of thicknesses from thin plasterboard to hollow block and insulated board, and that's where standard toggle fixings can fall short.

Corefix Strap handles hollow wall materials up to 50mm thick, so whether you're going into a thin single layer plasterboard or a chunkier hollow concrete block, you've got the depth covered without needing a different fixing.

The toggle opens in the cavity behind the wall and the strap pulls up tight against the back face for a solid hold.💪

One for the drainage contractors👆 Getting 110mm or 160mm PVC pipe to stay still while you cut it is one of those jobs that sounds simple until you're doing it alone.

PipeGrip clamps and supports the pipe so you're not holding it with one hand (or foot) while trying to cut or chamfer. Works on both pipe sizes, keeps everything aligned while you crack on, no setup time and works even in smaller spaces.

One of the questions we get asked most often is: what's the difference between a dot and dab wall and a stud wall — and does it change which fixing I need?

Short answer: yes, it really does.

A dot and dab wall (also called a drylined wall) has solid masonry behind the board, with a small cavity created by adhesive dabs. A stud wall has a timber or metal frame — no masonry behind.

The fixing you choose needs to match the wall type, because how the load transfers through the fixing is completely different.

We've put together a guide covering both wall types with fixing recommendations.

Concrete pour in January. Temperature dropped below zero overnight and the cure stopped. The team worked through the night, floating in stages as the slab slowly cured. And the Metex steel dapple bars did what they're built for, right through to the finish 👍

Full case study on the link below, including what an RC40 mix is specified for and how the membrane and rebar prep made the difference.

If you've ever had a fixing just crush the dot & dab plasterboard, there's a reason. Here's what's happening and what to do instead.

Frame fixings can fix into the masonry behind the plasterboard, but the compressive load caused by tightening the screw pulls the plasterboard into the cavity and distorts the wall.

Corefix Connect's steel core doesn't just transfer the load into the blockwork so the plasterboard isn't holding it - it also braces against inside of the plug to prevent the plasterboard from being pulled into the cavity.
