Afternoon!

With my eye on the mend, I’m back up to full hours in the office and it’s awesome to be back.

During the downtime, I’ve been working on the website and we had a soft launch a few weeks back.

Hi everyone,

Following up on the email I sent out last week, I wanted to keep you all updated on my current situation. Due to an ongoing eye condition, I am unfortunately unable to work at full capacity at the moment.

I'm not sure how long this condition will persist, but I am doing everything I can to manage it and will keep you informed of any changes.

A FEW MORE DATES FOR YOUR DIARY - Drop-in Sessions

The BID for Galashiels steering group invites you to attend one of their upcoming information sessions to learn more about the exciting BID project and how it will benefit our town.

These sessions will provide an opportunity to hear directly from the steering group, ask questions, and find out how the BID aims to drive economic growth, support local businesses, and enhance the overall appeal of Galashiels.

Here are the dates:

10th of October, 8am-10am at Quins of Galashiels
23rd of October, 5pm-7pm at The Salmon Inn
12th of November, 12pm-2pm at McDonald's Galashiels

Whether you're a business owner, a community member, or simply interested in the future of Galashiels, we encourage you to join at a time that suits you best.

We’d love to see as many people as possible drop by and learn more about the BID Project. Help us spread the word – please like, share, and tag anyone who might be interested!

We are excited to announce the publication of the BID for Galashiels Business Plan, a comprehensive strategy designed to drive the town's economic growth and strengthen our business community.

The plan outlines key objectives, including increasing footfall, enhancing the visitor experience, and supporting local businesses. With a focus on creating a welcoming environment, developing events and attractions, and providing essential business support, the plan sets out a clear path for Galashiels to flourish over the next five years.

Key initiatives in the plan include:

🩵Launching a vibrant events calendar.
🩵Developing a Galashiels Business Network.
🩵Working closely with partners to ensure the town's safety, cleanliness, and security.

We encourage you to read the plan, which you can access via our website (or link in comments), and join us in building a stronger, more vibrant Galashiels. Hard copy ballot papers for the BID for Galashiels vote will be delivered from 9th October.

H E L L O….

I think it would be wise to put a face to the name. I’m Michael Angus, founder and director at Angus Architecture Ltd.

It’s been a pretty crazy journey getting to where we are now, from a wee room in the house, to a shared office and now to our own space. A tough journey, but definitely worth it.

I have to give a shout out to the family for supporting me, either painting or moving stuff, but more important, keeping life at home moving on while I’m head down.

Another big shout out to Lauren at The Colourful Edit for these amazing photos. Well out the comfort zone that day 😂

This is a great project for the town. Go along to have a look and see what change can be achieved if there is a successful BID vote.

A lot of hard work has been put into this campaign so that we can improve OUR town.

We’ll certainly be there.

Tommorow is the big day!😀

We would like you to join us at our drop-in consultation event tomorrow, giving you a chance to share your views on how we can enhance Galashiels.

The event, held at The Great Tapestry of Scotland visitor centre on 22nd May between 2pm and 7pm, offers you the chance to learn more about BIDs, their functions, and successful examples from other communities.

We would love to see a great turnout from members of the public and the town’s businesses. The event gives us the opportunity to share more detail about BID for Galashiels, and gives you the opportunity to tell us what you would like the project to deliver for the town.

WE’VE MADE AN APPLICATION..

We have today submitted an application for our new office at 64 High Street, Galashiels!

We’re already in the office working away on projects, don’t worry,we don’t need to apply for change of use, we’re permitted under Class 1A 😅, so pop in and say hello!

Lastly, we are experiencing a busy spell at the moment and thank you all for your patience and understanding.
