Are you a passionate horticulturalist looking to develop your career within a prestigious private estate?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Gardener to join the team , near St Boswells. Set within 26 acres surrounding the historic Mertoun House, this hands-on role offers the chance to work across productive and ornamental gardens maintained to an exceptional standard.
The successful candidate will assist with:
🌱 Fruit and vegetable cultivation
🌸 Maintaining flower borders and ornamental displays
✂️ Pruning, hedge cutting and seasonal horticultural tasks
🌳 Tree care and estate grounds maintenance
🚜 Operating and maintaining garden machinery
👥 Supporting estate visitors and educational groups
What we're looking for:
✔ Horticultural qualification (SVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent) or relevant experience
✔ Strong attention to detail and commitment to excellence
✔ Full UK driving licence
✔ PA1/PA6 and First Aid qualifications beneficial but not essential
