I had a phone call last week from a client I did plans for in 2018, he was over the moon with the way his project had turned out, he had a beautiful home in Gravesend. He’d divorced, remarried and moved house, now he needed plans for a project on his new house, so I went to see him for a chat and to get his project going.

Whilst I was there he showed me pictures of the finished project in Gravesend, and he was good enough to share those pictures with me, which is what you can see here.

It’s a large two storey side extension, with some internal alterations, a really great project I enjoyed working on it. As always the plans came with a full specification and all the structural calculations, I obtained planning permission, building control approval and approval from southern water too, for him.

I supported the project right through to completion, which was fun but challenging as the property is built from clinker, which was poured in situ, this is a very unusual build technic especially for a residential dwelling.

I really enjoyed working on this, a great client and the finished project created an absolutely stunning home, both myself and the client where over the moon with the way this turned out.

A great project in Chatham, it’s only just gone into planning. It’s a two storey side extension, a single storey front extension and a rear dormer to facilitate a loft conversion, as well as some internal alterations.

This will make a beautiful family home, we will get full planning permission for this, the project also comes with a full specification and all the required structural calculations. Once we have planning permission as with all my projects, I will obtain Building Control approval too.

I also assist right through the project up until completion, builders and the client often have questions, I’m here to help them.

I’m really looking forward to seeing this finished, which will probably be later on next year.

We hope you are well?
Just a quick note to say thank you for your help with our extension project.
The builders left us a couple of weeks ago. We’ve had the final visit from MBC planning dept/inspector and are waiting for the final completion certificate.
It was all fairly stress free once we got planning permission.
Everybody has said how the front elevation looks like it was always there.
I’ve attached a couple of photos for your records. Please let me know if you need anymore (maybe photos of inside?).
I’m now faced with decorating the new rooms

A two storey house in Chatham required an extension to widen a compact kitchen positioned at the rear of the property. A small hallway led into the lounge which included the stairway up to the floor above. A dining room was located in the left hand side at the back of the house with a connecting door to the kitchen on the right. A garage was positioned outside of the home immediately adjacent to the living room.

The extension helped to increase the space in the kitchen and create an open plan area to include the dining room. The garage was demolished and replaced with a smaller version* that connected to a newly built music room which then led through to the kitchen.

Upstairs, the original bathroom was reduced in size and became the en suite for the new bedroom positioned at the top of the extension. A second cupboard was built next to the existing space close to the stairs. The changes on the first floor also meant the hallway layout was reconfigured to connect the new bedroom with the rest of the floor and the family bathroom repositioned at the back of the property.

This family home featured a small porch entrance which led into a large kitchen/dining room, with a partial wall dividing it from the lounge at the back of the house on the ground floor. The inclusion of a new extension saw a new hallway created to the left of the lounge with a bathroom positioned in the centre. Either side a utility room and a store room created more space for storage and other activities for the family in the house.

Heading into the next level above, there were two bedrooms and bathroom. The larger master bedroom sat at the front of the house, while the second bedroom was located next door to the bathroom. All were connected by the compact hallway which was then opened up to include the new side extension. An important finishing feature for the new layout was the inclusion of dormer windows on the steep pitched roof to match the appearance of the other sections of the property.

In the unlikely event of the council refusing permission, accordingly we will tell you this might happen before undertaking any work, hence enabling you to make an informed decision. A lot of the planning work we do is for applications around the permitted development rights of the property, consequently planning permission often isn’t needed!

This family home benefited from a single storey rear extension with a shallow pitched roof, relocating the kitchen in the property to create a new and much larger space. Originally, the kitchen was located on the front left-hand side of the property, near to the hallway, which led through to the dining room at the back of the house. The plans proposed to build an extension next to the garage, that would sit behind the main structure.

This involved changing the existing kitchen space into a utility room next door to the WC. The extension is designed to create a far more expansive kitchen and dining space, with the adjoining double doors re-positioned to maintain the connection with the lounge. New worktops were specified along the far left edge of the kitchen, along with two Velux roof windows located above the dining area, French doors allow easier access from the extension at the rear into the garden. The introduction of a new extension also meant the original entrance to the garage, was changed to a new position.
