If you farm livestock, slurry management is something that deserves your attention right now.
Farm inspections are increasingly focused on how slurry is stored and contained, whether drainage systems are up to scratch, and whether clean and dirty water are being properly separated. The standards are tightening and the inspections are becoming more frequent.

The good news is that most of the issues inspectors flag come down to infrastructure, and infrastructure is something we can help with.

The Government has just announced the DEFRA 2026 Capital Grants scheme, with £225 million available to support farmers and landowners with practical environmental improvements. That includes hedgerow planting, drainage and water management, soil protection, farm infrastructure upgrades and biodiversity work.

In short, funding that helps you do the kind of work that often gets pushed down the list because of the cost.
