Weโ€™re attending The Scotsman Highlands & Islands Green Energy Conference 2026 ( ) this June in Inverness โšก๐ŸŒ

On June 11th at the Kingsmills Hotel, the event brings together leaders and innovators to explore how the region can deliver Scotlandโ€™s net-zero ambitions.

As an architectural practice working across the Highlands & Islands and internationally, weโ€™re passionate about sustainable design and the role the built environment plays in the transition.
At CRGP, weโ€™re also on our own Net Zero journey, aiming to reduce our carbon emissions to zero or near-zero by 2050.

Looking forward to connecting and sharing ideas.

๐Ÿ“ If youโ€™re attending, letโ€™s connect.

It was great to attend the Summer Womenโ€™s Networking Lunch at Trocaderoโ€™s by Crossbasket Castle!

Last Thursday Evelyn Park and Kirsten Davis had the opportunity to enjoy a Womenโ€™s Networking Luncheon, where they had a chance to mingle and meet some fantastic career women from a wide range of sectors across Glasgow. The hospitality was super, and the Chamber delivered a lovely luncheon event. The standout moment was hearing Caroline Meikle share her career journey. Her candid insights, personal anecdotes, and reflections on overcoming barriers while championing other women along the way.

A special bonus- Kirsten was delighted to win a Training Session generously provided by Pitman Training! Only 6 surprise winners got lucky to get one of those. Thank you Pitman Training!

Thanks to the Chamber and Pitman Training for the event.

Today is no ordinary day for CRGP.

Today is a day thatโ€™s marked with memories, nostalgia, and the celebration of a remarkable career in Architecture.

Today we mark the retirement of our Director, Derek Brown, bringing to a close an extraordinary career spanning nearly 40 years with CRGP (a level of commitment that predates email, mobile phones as we know them, and most of our office tech!). Since joining in 1987, Derek has been at the heart of the practiceโ€™s evolution, guiding it through decades of change, from drawing boards to digital design, and leaving his mark on the business every step of the way.

As Derek also celebrates a milestone birthday, weโ€™d like to thank him for his leadership, commitment, friendship and the many stories, laughs and memorable moments along the way. We wish him all the very best for a long, happy well-earned retirement, with plenty more time to enjoy the ups and downs of following Partick Thistle!

๐ŸŽ‰ Exciting news! ๐ŸŽ‰

CRGP are delighted to announce that our Cottonyards project is in the running for a coveted BRICK AWARD! ๐Ÿงฑโœจ

The Cottonyards development in Glasgowโ€™s New Gorbals is in the running for both:
โ–ซ๏ธ Urban Regeneration
โ–ซ๏ธ Medium Housing Development

Transforming the historic Category C Listed Twomax Mill and a previously underutilised site, Cottonyards exemplifies high-quality urban regeneration, creating a vibrant, inclusive residential community. Itโ€™s part of the New Gorbals masterplan and Glasgowโ€™s 15-minute city vision, focused on better living, stronger communities, and revitalised spaces.

With this year marking the 50th Anniversary of the Brick Awards, it would be extra special to take home a win. We are incredibly proud of the team and the impact of this project. Wish us luck ๐Ÿคž

Itโ€™s been a busy few weeks for CRGP... and we love to see it!

From attending stellar industry events to volunteering in our communities and welcoming new team members, itโ€™s been a fantastic period of growth and connection.

Last Friday, our Managing Director, Bryan McFadzean, alongside colleagues Paul McWilliams and Paul MacDonald, were proud to represent CRGP at the Inverness Chamber Highland Business Dinner. A brilliant evening celebrating ambition, collaboration and the strength of the Highland economy. The keynote speaker was Phil Spencer MBE, alongside guest speaker Charandeep Singh, Chief Executive of Scottish Chambers of Commerce.

Great to be part of such a strong business community, and weโ€™re excited to keep the momentum going.

Last week, Temi, Kirsten and Sophie from our ๐—š๐—น๐—ฎ๐˜€๐—ด๐—ผ๐˜„ T๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐—บ spent the day volunteering at two primary schools in Ayrshire as part of โ€œWorld of Work Week,โ€ organised by Ayrshire Chamber and DYW Ayrshire.

It was a bit of a whirlwind, but a brilliant day. Between the two schools, we mustโ€™ve chatted with over 120 pupils from Primary 1โ€“7 about what architects actually do (and confirmed itโ€™s a lot more than just drawing buildings!).

Our morning at Blacklands Primary in Kilwinning was set up โ€œspeed networkingโ€ style, with groups rotating around tables. We shared a short presentation โ€œWhat is an Architectโ€ before putting them to the test with a spaghetti and marshmallow building challengeโ€ฆsafe to say the pupils took on the challenge gleefully, as well as eating a few of the building blocks as a reward once theyโ€™d completed their structures.

In the afternoon at Garnock Primary, we rotated through P1โ€“P4 classes with a lively โ€œGuess the Famous Buildingโ€ quiz. The childrenโ€™s knowledge was seriously impressive, guessing landmarks, locations, and even what theyโ€™re used for. We followed this with a โ€œdesign your dream homeโ€ crafting activity. There were green roofs, football pitches, and plenty of Minecraft inspiration, as well as lots of glue, feathers and stickers.

We came away thoroughly impressed with how sharp and creative the pupils were. Definitely a few future architects and engineers in the mix. The future is in good hands!

A big thank you to DYW Ayrshire and Ayrshire Chamber, and especially Kelsey Blackwood for organising.
