Last night the most lovely people came together to celebrate the launch of the Sterling Home Style Index and my position as Head of Inspiration.

The Style Index is a new approach to home design that goes beyond trends, colours and Pinterest boards. It’s a journey of self-discovery designed to uncover your unique Style DNA and help create a home that feels unmistakably you.

Because the most memorable homes aren’t the most expensive. They’re the ones that tell a story. Your story.

Over the coming months I’ll be sharing insights, ideas and inspiration to help people create homes that don’t just look beautiful, but feel right too.

The Style Index is just the beginning.

Thanks .scotsman for this feature in their weekend magazine supplement.

The piece was focussed on the final this week but it also touched on what I thought had changed in me since I was given the privilege to be included in the show.

A lot has happened since that first casting day, which hasn’t been straightforward to navigate.

Family tragedy, business challenges, relationship issues.. it would be enough to fold your arms over and look grumpy.

Thankfully, there have been some incredible friendships along the way, a lot of personal growth, a mellowing and a few previous successes to keep motivation ticking along.

I’m very glad that I still feel so connected with my destiny, and that my obsession with the seemingly intangible concept of Home.

THIS IS NOT AI 🫠

I recently had the joy of working with , who has that rare ability to take photos of you without it feeling like a photoshoot, no forced poses, and an output that you feel reflects a true version of yourself.

Grateful for the time, the energy, the chat, humour and the eye behind the lens.

If you’re thinking about getting headshots done, Andrew Jackson is the guy.

Buying suppositories from a full time model is apparently more common than you think.

Is it too self indulgent for 3 friends to make a podcast? Yes it is, but we are doing it anyway, and it’s been a lot of fun so far.

Im not going to say it don’t worry.

I told myself I would never say it.

Oh my lord I’m about to say it, this is such a rush.

Watch this space! 🫠

One of my biggest paranoias was always getting an injury at rugby and not being able to exercise. If that happened, I was sure my whole mind, my life and work would all unravel.

I did get an injury this year, in January, and I’ve not been back on the pitch yet, sadly. But this time has given me an opportunity to focus harder on

If you don’t know about CrossFit, it’s basically gymnastics, with weightlifting and circuits. Sounds awful I know, it is, which is why I love it.

These snaps by and are from the second round of the CrossFit Open, a global competition where a mystery workout is revealed with a timeline to complete it - FUN! Scotlands very own , who also goes to , made it to the penultimate CrossFit arena last year, at the CrossFit games and we’re all backing her to do it again this year!

My own mother took it up last year (in her 60s although she doesn’t look it) and was proudly referred to as “an absolute weapon” by her coach at

If you want to try something new this year try CrossFit.

You can’t get the biscuits without the blisters..

That probably won’t become an iconic motivational quote, unfortunately.

I was surprised about a few things after listening back to the preview of my interview with

I’m surprised by how much I shared, really personal stuff, stuff that industry competitors, haters and critics might be curious to know about. Perhaps it was because I was in my own space I felt comfortable, or maybe I was just in the right mood that day.

I’m not even that fussed if anyone listens, it was nice to clear my chest.

Some of the topics covered:

My upbringing
Key relationships
Employment tribunal
My ARB sanction 🫠
My support network
Coping strategies
Living under huge personal stress
Dealing with grief and terminal illness

Cullross Palace isn’t really a palace, it’s a 17th-century merchant’s house flexing REALLY hard. Built from thick rubble masonry to survive Fife’s coastal weather, it stacks status vertically: small defensive openings below, bigger light-hungry windows above. Inside, the painted timber ceilings aren’t decoration they’re insulation, surface protection, and wealth signalling rolled into one. The steep terraced gardens climb the hill behind using gravity for drainage and productivity, not aesthetics. Structurally it’s simple stone and timber. This is PURE confidence. This is what happens when trade money starts competing with aristocracy: work and home collapse into one building, and success gets broadcast straight onto the street.

Have you ever heard of ?

I decided that this year I was going to get out into the field and find some interesting homes. This isn’t actually a castle it is Victorian romanticism dressed up as medieval power. The home is a 19th-century castellated villa with towers for drama, battlements for silhouette and a round stair turret because symmetry is boring.

But it isn’t a fortress. It’s architecture telling a story about status, landscape, and identity. Scotland didn’t just revive castles it reinvented them during this period.

If you look closely, you can see the moment history became branding.
