Matt and Shelly asked me to fit panelling in their hall and stairs. We discussed it, taking into account the style of house, condition and shape of the walls and the best types of mouldings to do the house justice. The wall from the mid to top
landings was curved so I had to do work to both the MDF panel and timber moulding to fit it to the curve. They were delighted with the outcome which made me a happy joiner. Looking forward to seeing it plastered and painted 😊

Iain and Vera felt their hardwood parquet flooring looked tired and mis matched in their large living room and asked me to replace it with oak herringbone. I firstly had to remove the old flooring before sheeting the sub floor with plywood and raising the area at the bay window by 40mm to bring it to the level. I then glued down the new centre section of flooring which gave me a solid base to work from on either side and once completed, they were delighted with their new floor which in turn made me a happy joiner. 😊

George and Lynne have cottage style doors throughout their house but couldn’t get them in the narrow size they needed for their bedroom and hall cupboards. These were plain flush doors so they asked me to help and I suggested using 9mm MDF and routering out the lines to create the effect then fixing them directly to the doors. They were both delighted at the result. 😊

This was a challenge I really enjoyed. Dave and Fiona are ready to move into their West end flat but firstly wanted the old bookcase ripped out and a new one built with birch plywood with the plywood edges being a feature. Fiona had sent me a sketch of what she wanted and at almost 5 metres long, I had to construct a frame to build it on and slide it into place. Fiona was delighted with the finished job and if she’s delighted, so am I 😊

Craig and Hugh asked me to do a variety of jobs in their home including acoustic wall panelling and the TV on the wall. This is one tv that’ll not fall off the wall and all cables hidden except the mains cable which if you look closely enough you might just spot. 😁

Margaret and Allan felt their garage, or rather Allan’s workshop, could do with a bit of work done to make it more comfortable for him to work in. After fitting the new door, windows, framing, insulating and sheeting the ceiling and walls it was plastered by my brother Tommy who’ll complete the job when he returns to pebble dash the outside. Allan is delighted with the new look.

Yanna and Colin wanted a new shed that had to be a specific size and was to sit on their driveway which had a slope on it. They shopped around but nothing suited so they asked me to build one. I really enjoyed this one as I had a bit of a free hand in doing it and they were both delighted with the result. 😊

Jaqueline asked me to build a wardrobe to replace the old units she had. We discussed options and she left me to get on with it. New carpet and paintwork later and Jaqueline’s delighted which makes me a happy joiner. 😊
