We had an interesting job this week. Removing a very large wind blown beech tree in Newton Mearns. The safest option would have been dragging it over with a large winch, but we were asked to minimise damage to the surrounding trees and garden, which meant it had to be very carefully untangled, some of which was done using a tracked cherry picker, but the majority from rope and harness. Big thanks to John McLaren, Stevo McKenna and the rest of the guys for helping complete a genuinely tricky project on time and as agreed.

Job opportunity!!

We are looking to hire someone to join us to start asap working on the grounds maintenance side of the business.

This role would mostly involve hedge cutting and rough area grass mowing on commercial sites throughout central scotland, and occasionally further afield, and also assisting with the tree surgery teams as required.
Experience in grounds maintenance or similar would be preferred, but consideration would be given to any candidate with a good attitude to work and a willingness to learn.

The ability to get to our yard in East Kilbride for 07.00 Monday to Friday would be essential

First post in absolutely ages but I remembered to actually take some photos of this one!

This large old beech was removed today after it was found to have ganoderma fungus. Despite the tree looking healthy this disease causes structural weakness , and given the trees proximity to the road and houses, it was condemned by the local authority tree officer.

I should take this opportunity to apologise to anyone who has called looking for a quote and not had a reply. Things have been extremely busy and it has been very difficult to keep up with all the enquiries as well as actually doing the work. Please do get in touch again if you would like a quote for pruning or removal.

Successfully completed a large project for historic scotland in the grounds of Bothwell Castle, doing a little bit of everything, from reshaping very large oaks, to clearing back overhanging branches from pathways, removing dangerous trees and replanting.

4 large beech trees safely removed in Eaglesham over 2 days. 2 with the help of a cherry picker, and 2 from rope and harness.
