If your alarm goes off, will anyone come?

Most homeowners assume that someone’s watching their monitored alarm and that the police will respond, but this isn’t always the case.

Here's what DOES happen:
1. Your monitored alarm will connect to an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC). This is a 24/7 staffed facility, watching for signals from your system.

2. What happens next depends on whether your system has a police URN (Unique Reference Number).
✅ If it does have a URN, the ARC can call your local police force directly, treating your alert as a verified, priority incident. This means an average 8-minute response.
❌ If it doesn’t have a URN, the ARC can only call 999, like any other member of the public. This means no guaranteed response time, and worryingly, officers may not be dispatched at all.

This means that although two “monitored” alarms may look similar, they could perform completely differently in an emergency because of who fitted them. 😱

It's time to celebrate our team once again – huge congratulations to Darren Meaghan and Paul Lavey, our July Employees of the Month!

This recognises the outstanding effort they both put into delivering the Wrexham FC project.

Darren and Paul worked to incredibly tight deadlines on a very challenging and demanding site. On top of this, they were working away from home and living out of a hotel for the duration of the works.

Despite all of this, they remained committed to getting the project completed and maintaining the high standards we expect.

Projects like this require a huge amount of flexibility, teamwork and determination, and their efforts certainly haven’t gone unnoticed.

A big congratulations and thank you to you both - very well deserved!

We promised more detail on our upcoming Theatre-land projects, so here goes...

We recently secured the contract to support and maintain Lloyd Webber Theatre Group's CCTV and access control.

This means weekly site attendance and ongoing remote IT support & maintenance, as well as any remedial works and upgrades as required while working around a busy weekly show schedule.

Because the Lloyd Webber Theatre Group includes some of the biggest names in the West End, our team will be working around some exciting big-name shows including:
- Theatre Royal - currently showing Hercules
- Gillian Lynne Theatre - currently showing My Neighbour Totoro
- Adelphi - currently showing The Comedy about Spies
- Cambridge Theatre - currently showing Matilda
- London Palladium - currently playing Jesus Christ Superstar
- His Majesty's Theatre - currently showing Phantom of the Opera
