Just a trim of the bottom; I checked I'm not that daft. Driveway tidy up, then bank brambles, w**ds, leaves and thunder storm. Downed tools. Not fancied going zap today πŸ™πŸŒΎπŸŒ΄πŸŒ§β›ˆοΈπŸŒ§

In all the 8 years of gardening here in Haslemere I have never seen such colour all at once. Lupins were amazing and back drop of roses, foxgloves stunning.

Unfortunately the ole boy's son planted a cherry tree in front of this glorious display. I said it really needs to be moved but nope.

My silly camera doesn't so it justice but you get the picture πŸ™πŸŒΎπŸŒ΄

People entirely panic when June arrives and their vegetable beds are still half empty. They assume they've missed the boat and the summer season is already a write-off. The truth is, the soil has finally reached a decent temperature and things will actually grow instead of just sitting there sulking in the damp. Getting certain seeds in the ground now is exactly what your garden needs for a strong late-summer harvest.

Roses. Something about a Rose that brings joy to any garden. These are from clay soil and sandy soil. πŸ™πŸŒΎπŸŒ΄

"So happy thank you so much! More importantly you being yourself again great to see"...this is the message I received from S, a gardening client who first contacted me 2018 to clear his very neglected rental garden. Since then, I have gardened for him on ad hoc.

Last week he contacted me and I booked him for a 4.30pm slot just to tidy his patio area & a cut back of trees. He offered me dinner yet I accepted a drink of coke zero. Sometimes I wish I was 20 years younger!!! 🀣

We have good banter and he is generous in payment, yet his message struck a chord. He knew me before a part of my life went wrong and I had a blip πŸ™

That really sometimes does make all the difference.

His comment concluded that I have come out the other end. That there is so much more i can give my 10 year old small business.

That I am stronger "you being yourself again"........ it was never my fault, it was the system's..

I took a leap of faith.

I am on the right path πŸ™πŸŒΎπŸŒ΄

Popped up the allotment to discover w**ds, poppies, sweetpeas growing, area I cleared is still w**d free [yippee]. Now my plot has no shade so it was simply a quick planting round pond area of 3 chosen perennials from Van Arnhem Nursery....they have travelled well to dog/house/garden/cat sitting for 6 nights, then my daughter's for 3 nights then allotment. Both times tempted to just gift & plant out BUT no.....specifically chosen for pond area only. All watered well before planting.

Potatoes well they got caught I'm dare I say ze frost 9 or 10 days ago yet one of the elderly allotmenteers said "oh they will be fine" so they will be fine.

I've bought Nasturtium seeds, sunflowers 🌻 seeds and grey-blue poppy seeds which will be scattered once silly w**ds are gone. Not happening today mind.

I've done sainsbury's food shop, storage to look for my summer hat & green shorts [not successful] so took blue jeans [now shorts]; back to daughter's to collect forgotten phone charger, toiletries & my ice pack coolant. Then up to HQGH for an hour or two. Now home. I'm staying put. Sausages to walking anywhere now....lovely & cool as I get morning sunshine only ✨️

I'm working all of next week for 6 days so resting and restoring.

Such an absolute delight, despite my stick white legs, to be wearing work shorts and tshirt. Too much time spent under many layers. Today was lovely, I'm not complaining and next week will be warmer. Today I mowed large lawns in Elstead. πŸ™πŸŒΎπŸŒ΄β˜€οΈ

After an extremely busy day of collecting planting from Van Arnhem Nursery for tomorrow's border design, I have arrived safely at my dog/house sitting week.

I worked for my elderly gardening client this morning, then Van Arnhem Nursery, then PO errands, then school run pick up.

Currently offering out to my gardening clients only atm to look after dog & cat, house and greenhouse & of course the gardens.

Treated me to Fish n Chips. Yummy yum. Need strength to unload Stanley car, but for now enjoying the peace and tranquility πŸ™πŸŒΎπŸŒ΄πŸΎβ€οΈ

It's turned colder and this week will be tougher as rain nearly every day. An absolute must for our gardens and my allotment. Yesterday I cleared the section by my potting shed at my allotment to grow summer flowers in my many pots. The area is planned for a bigger shed next year hopefully. Potatoes πŸ₯” πŸ₯” were earthed up, herbs are growing, and even the sweetpeas are shooting up. One day at a time this week. It's not like I've ever worked in the rain eh? Enjoy πŸ™πŸŒΎπŸŒ΄
