Completed new build holiday let in Mawgan Porth, Cornwall. provided the full structural design package on the project. Apex steel frame provided for stability to rear elevation and glulam frames, purlins and ridges provided to form roof structure throughout. It’s turned out awesome!

Great night for the at the IStructE Northern Counties Awards last Friday night. Won a couple and commended for a few more.

Starbucks – Zero Carbon Projects Award Winner, Special Commendation for Medium Projects Award

Marine Gardens – Planet Award (Most Sustainable Project) Winner, Special Commendation for Zero Carbon Projects Award, Commendation for Small Projects Award

Mains Farm – Special Commendation for Heritage Projects Award

provided the structural design for this new build holiday cottage in Mawgan Porth. The structure is timber frame with a local steel frame for apex glazing and stability to the rear. There are a series of exposed glulam frames that support exposed glulam ridge beams. We designed foundations, timber frame, local steel frame and all glulam frames and members.

We provided the structural design to transform this old industrial building into a new Starbucks in Sunderland and it has turned out fantastic. As part of the works we removed a section of the existing portal frame to achieve the drive thru meaning we needed to justify the stability of the remaining structure and strengthen accordingly.

This week we got the opportunity to attend the unveiling of Alfie Bradley’s new sculpture. We provided the structural design for the sculpture and are delighted to have contributed to such a fantastic project. The “I am love” sculpture is a message of empowerment with the main focus being to inspire young people to make positive choices. The sculpture is located in Frank Whitmore Green in Chelmsford and contains knives collected as part of knife amnesty in Essex along with a feather windchime, with the feathers painted by young people during workshops.

Swipe for an unreal transformation. provided the structural design for the conversion of this old industrial building into a bespoke habitable dwelling in Whitley Bay. Design works comprised of justifying the existing steel frame, specification of remedial works, construction of new floor structure and steelwork design over structural openings throughout.

provided the structural design for conversion of listed barn buildings into Holiday Lets at a site in Ebchester, County Durham. The converted buildings are directly adjacent to an ancient Roman Bath House which made the development particularly sensitive and meant we hade to provide our structural design in accordance with site specific parameters. See a few before and after’s.
